Well, El-Rufai and northerners like him can easily win legally required 25% of votes in 2/3 of the 36 states to become president. No southern candidate can win that unless north is tired of ruling Nigeria.

The northern military dictators rigged Nigeria's political structure and process to favour El-Rufai's Northern region, by creating 19 states and Abuja in one northern region. They created only 17 states in the two southern regions.

Worse is that southern politicians don't seem to know that land mass or population is not used as criterion to create new federating units like states, in a country originally brought together from many different regions.

What a humdinger of a response. Igbo man's judgement always clouded by his bitter, tribalistic and hateful outlook to life to the extent his utterances are always emotional rather than logical. Even El Rufai that is talking said Buhari is "unelectable " in the past. Who is two term President of Nigeria today that El Rufai is now sucking up to yet mocked 10 years ago? lol, too early for all these permutations, everything is in the hands of Buhari for now, he's body language will determine his successor, we just don't know his intentions yet, and we won't know until 2023 because it'll be too risky to start messing with Tinubu who've sacrificed his constituency for 2023.

Let them try and monopolise power, because of their alleged number, and not make conciliatory power-sharing arrangement with others and see the discontent that will bring Nigeria down.
