An iron bridge that was constructed only God knows when has collapsed in Akwa Ibom state. The bride is said to be a major link between two local governments, Obot Akara and Ikot Ekpene local government in the state. The collapse was due to a fully loaded truck with cement that was attempting to pass the road. Meanwhile, villagers can be seen helping themselves with the fallen bags of cement. Naija way.

The bridge in question was built in the 50s and 60s. It is one of the few left in modern Nigeria.

What kind of engineers we have that are not safety conscious?They built a bridge without defining specific load it can carry or precautionary measures to take.

That's a Bailey bridge and with the span I believe was not designed the carry a load of more than 10Tonnes
