If you must do an Infiniti sedan, go for the first gen Infiniti g35 05/06

Infiniti isn't a must but which would you recommend similar to this?

Start from simple to hard. Honda or Toyota.

hmmm. Thanks for the honest response, some don't care. They just want to sell, could you pls further buttress your points and why you think the G35 would be much better for me at this state? thanks once again

You shouldn't be buying an Infiniti at all. Get the IS250. RWD.

Why recommend this and what year are we talking about?

You guys are doing marvelously here and may God continue to bless you.

I feel this quote is very very wrong. There's no car that's bad. It's maintenance culture and lack of availability of parts that makes on car better than the other. If he has the money to maintain the GS35 please let him go ahead. The IS is very small and as fun to drive as the GS.. it all boils down to how much dey him hand to maintain any car he buys simple..

It all depends on your budget. Gimme a figure, I'd tell you what year and model to look at.

2.2 max if it will be ordered, every penny to begin using the car is included.

Hmmmm. Almost there, you could had got yourself a Camry or accord 08/09. But the cash you have to purchase a tokumbo unit is low. But that said, that amount could easily get a registered unit.

Cant spend that much on a naija used car hence the reason I mentioned order from USA. Also, muscle and evil spirit are out of the equation.

Used cars pass used cars. Some Used cars are far way better than tokumbo cars na when dealers bring them into the country, uncommon transformation takes place. Also, the US imported is used. What an irony cheesy

Sometimes shipping company had to use bigger ship to ship the cars ...give and take cars that enter naija will get issue ,it's like me saying I maintain my cars better than 80% of car owners on uber ... Am only one person out of thousands and thousands of car owners.....

Bros most dealers like to cut cost.. A lot buy salvaged and flooded cars and do miracles as soon as the car touches Nigeria.. The percent part is just a figure of speech.. I'm sorry if any harm came from it. But the truth remains there are some good Nigerian used cars that are better than some toks brought in (especially flooded toks na electrical issue go kill the owner)... I quoted Gazzuzz because he's hand work speaks for him. I haven't met him in person. I haven't even patronized his autoshop, but his forum and level of experience speaks for him. If I can afford him I would Patronize him..

I hate Nigeria used cars with passion... u also have to understand Nigerians are not ready to pay top money for a good car .. Even if the tokunbo car is in excellent condition, they buyer will still price the car as if person dash the car for person abroad... person was asking me the difference between Mobil naija and the USA imported Mobil 1 ... how many Nigerians out of population of millions can afford Mobil I USA ? You get what you pay for bro ..... Car business is one of the most frustrating business ever.

I will also never buy a Nigerian used vehicle no matter who is inspecting it. That is not to say one can't get good deals in Nigeria, it's not just a risk I'm willing to take.

Truth is, oyinbo cars are better maintained, they have quality parts and professional equipment.

Over here, even if you want to keep your car well maintained, kazeem go help you bastardise am, ladipo go give you substandard part, , our road go give you k-leg

Bottom line, our system here doesn't help us.

Buy from the abroad for rest of mind grin

Aite sounds good. What are the other things you think i need to know? Note that i might not ask you some questions because it's my first and not too conversant with cars, so you could use your experience and expertise to relay them to my understanding. Pls i hope you understand this line

What about availability, price and sales of parts? Availability of experienced mechanics? Resale value?
If you're not too conversant with cars and a 1st time car owner, then with all due respect you have no business with such cars unless you intend buying another car as backup.
Some cars are not forgiving when abused. Start with less techy cars and if possibly with smaller engine till you get used to cars and their usual maintenance requirements (for easy and cheaper repair costs), then you can think of upgrading to something bigger and better.
I can't imagine myself getting a luxury high-end car as it were as a novice and for a 1st car.

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a compact SUV (one of the following cars - all V4 and 2010 upwards):
- Ford escape,
- Mitsubishi Outlander, or
- Volkswagen Tiguan

I am looking for one that's:
- Fuel efficiency
- Maintenance cost
- Durability
- Comfort
- Luxury tongue
- Better 2nd hand value (if any)
- If there are any major issues I should look out for.

It will be a daily car to and fro Island and Mainland and occasional interstate rides.

Thanks.

And if you have any other SUVs in mind that are better than those listed above do drop your suggestions (with reasons)

Thanks again. smiley

Depends on what kind of load you are hauling, a pharmacy marketer can use a small sedan after all drugs aren't that heavy compared to an electronic marketer say someone selling microwaves or any heavy load.

depending on how bad the road you intend to ply are, I did say

1. Corolla/avensis verso variant (wagon) for space, if the roads expected have off-road tendencies then

2. RAV4 or Lexus RX300 can be of equal advantage to you

Toyota Avensis Verso/Toyota picnic 2001 to 2009

Toyota Avensis wagon 03-09 model

Toyota RAV4 2000 to 05 model year for manual transmission but 04 and 05 only if it's automatic transmission 01 to 03 auto had a factory defect that may not have been fixed in the unit you intend to buy.

Avensis is not a robber or vandals magnet like the Corolla it's not a must you buy a wagon/estate but it can come in handy when you need to sleep on the road or extra space for personal cargo

Stop being wicked Nuru. RX 300 for a marketer is a very nonsensical recommendation.
