Good day all,I've been following procedures on how to apply for visa here since last year.i finally applied and my interview is next month.I'm going for vacation for 2 weeks that will be sponsored by my mom in December. I'm a working class lady, age 23 and single and I've never been to any country cos I have no reason to but this time I need to travel and ease myself all stress from Lagos.Any advice on what to expect during the interview and documents to backup that I will be coming back after two weeks.
Ps I filled in my ds160 form that it's being sponsored by my parents but I already lost my dad.which is my mom is sponsoring.do you think I should have put mother instead of parents or I shouldn't mention i lost my dad .

A grown adult working class to be sponsored on vacation by mom wont fly for US Visit visa....... Edit your form and filled you will sponsor yaself

Travel history is another angle but can be overlooked if u have a nice profile.......

There is no shortcut or special trick to get a sooner interview date. Nobody can force the system.
The embassy intentionally programmed the dates months away for reasons best known to them.
Be patient and wait your turn.

abisolaarshow:
Hello, please is there anyone with an idea on how to get a sooner interview date? thanks.

Why not go to Dubai that does not require strict visa policy because you don't have strong ''ties'' to Nigeria.

I dont think going to the US now is a good idea since you dont have travel history

Why not try the UK because if you submit all necessary docs/information you will get the Visa unlike the US that its a gamble, now with a very low percentage.

Young single female, no assets also without any travel history. With a profile like this it might be very difficult to convince a consular officer to grant a visa. You basically have no strong ties to Nigeria yet.
The worst part of it is that you are planning to present a story about a sponsor.
The U.S embassy is very strict with all visa applicants at the moment. Why not be patient and build a stronger profile at least get some travel history.

Please, stop exposing your ignorance in public. When you only jump on hearsay and not read to know what is going on. People pay Nigerian Embassy for visa too and it is not refundable! Spokesboy my foot!! Don’t angry me pls.
spokesboy:
I have never been denied a US Visa please. It's not about me but about how they treat Nigerians recently. Why can't they refund people's visa fees after refusal? They don't want you but they can collect your money - shameless fellows. It's called Advanced Fee Fraud (419) here in Nigeria. Collecting money for services not rendered. Thieves!

How can I be angry with an unexposed, fake local immigration advisor like you. My first trip to the UK was in 1986 when the visa was issued free of charge and my USA first trip was in 1992 when the protocol was to drop your passport in the morning at Walter Carrigton Crescent and pick it up in the afternoon paying no dime and visa issued. They started the whole idea of charging for visas when they saw the economics and business side of it. Now every other person, including Nigeria imbibed the habit. The USA deny Nigerians visa by mere "discretion" with no factual basis - is that not an indicator of fraud. Couldn't they have shown their honesty and transparency by introducing a point based visa system? Anybody who doesn't meet the minimum point won't bother to pay their frivolous fees and waste time coming for a baseless interview judged by a low grade visa officer on the basis of "discretion"? Please think!

They, US and any country, have the right to use whatever system they deem fit to admit people into their country. If it's not suitable with you, go to the next country on the list.

2nd Half
This is too condescending of you. You aren't in a position to judge a person employment or paygrade IF YOU DIDNT OFFER HIM/HER THE POSITION.

PS
Hello All
This is a thread for intending VISITORS to the USA seeking B1/B2 visa for admission.
Can WE ALL stay on the agenda.

Nigerians una too boast abeg, who gives a flying F about your travelling history? Let's remain focused on the objectives of this thread. It's only for voluntary knowledge sharing for others to learn. Visa application and eventually issuance is not a right, if one gets denied, they take it that way and try again some other time. Those that got theirs approved don't have two heads neither does it make all denied applicants dunce.

Anyway, in other news. Just saw this.

That’s actually the way it is my broda. The news is 3 years ago though.... Even our Nigeria visa on arrival that is valid for only 15 days goes for about $180-200.

Reciprocity indeed! And we have several bitter people saying the Americans are “cheating” us, people that are so docile they can’t even ask their own government a single question oh!

One major thing I have come to realise is that as much as 80-90% persons with US visa refusals I have come across actually wanted to bolt with the visa. Then those with approval are mostly people that plan to go and come back (except for recent times sha), at least in my own circle. Una lie! In essence, these guys (VOs) are mostly getting their job done appropriately, yeah. Be sincere with yourselves please, the bulk of you lot busy liking some nonsense and senseless posts on here are majorly INTENDING IMMIGRANTS that got beaten to their own game, BITTER.... Simple!

Hello kind hearts in the house,

@justwise and other gurus,

Please i need your kind advice urgently. I applied for a US visitor's visa in April but was requested to schedule a 221g appointment for a follow on interview. However my sibling who i intend visiting got a new job and has now changed job and has a new address. I have tried editing the new details on my DS160 form but says it has been submitted so i can't. Am in a fix now as i don't know whether to go with the old details and explain at the embassy or i can make and submit a new DS160 application form. I don't know if making a new application is acceptable.

Kindly advise please.

Go to CEAC site, click on retrieve application, put in all the details plus security questions, a screen will pop up letting you know the form you are trying to retrieve has been submitted and giving you the option to view confirmation page or create new application. Click on create new application, correct what you need to correct etc and submit. You can then go to the profile on CGI and change the DS160 number. You have to do this not later than 72 hours before the interview. If your interview is far, still do it now. If you have issues changing the CGI number, send an email to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com and call the call centre from 9am weekdays on +234 1 227 8955. Explain the issue, they would change your appointment to reflect the new form number and send you an email.

Good day gurus in the house,
My mum is above 70 years and she's visiting her sister in the US. She has no travelling history. She has a house in Nigeria. She is just a trader. She is not that educated, she communicate fairly in english. Her interview is November.
What are the document she needs to take to the embassy?
What advice will you give her on her preparation and response at the interview?
Thanks
