Greetings y’all,
Thanks for the nice update. Been following the Student visa thread for over a year now, planning to apply for Summer admission. I have a few questions for those already in Germany the reason I am here. My questions are;
(1) I was considering applying to Study in Kleve, how viable is the City in terms of Student jobs?

(2) My undergraduate discipline is Biochemistry, but I have over 7years experience in Sales. I have decided to switch to IT, presently running CCNA and by the grace of God I plan to complete CCNP before December. Is Networking in demand in Germany?

(3) Based on my Undergraduate course of study, I am aware it would be difficult to get a Masters program in IT, is settling for a Bsc in IT advisable considering my age, I am already in my late 30’s.

Your advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I got admitted into a masters degree program in Germany on 19th of June, after which I made a category B-Visa booking on 24th June, as my classes starts by 9th of October.
But uptil now, I haven't gotten a date and I'm seriously worried.
Please any advise.

From the info I got reading comments on the Student visa thread, you were supposed to book under Category A as a Masters hopeful. Advice given to those in your shoes is to ask your school for extension then probably cancel, rebook with start date specified as late December and pray. I would advice you follow that thread for directions, all the best.

@Odedenshi.
What if in a situation that my school refuses to extend or defer my admission. Can I cancel the CategoryB that I have made and then book for CategoryA and also get my appointment before my resumption date (October)?

Please can a prospective master's degree student apply for a category A students visa with a second class lower certificate? I thought it's only with a first class?

So they have finally creeped in here. Wonders will never cease to end. Smooth talkers and desperate greedy buffons. Guys be on red alert, if you allow yourself to be swayed, na your business. Telling you to pay for assistance when everything you need is here with you is laughable but foolish of you if you fall prey.

BE RED ALERT, THEY ARE HERE ONCE AGAIN......

@justwise take note pls.

so if you have been seeing the news this past couple of days major news circulating that Germany is on the brink of recession and i have been hearing that for years .
2017 recession , 2018 recession but now its seems like its going to happen . there have been reports of profit downfall and employee layoffs up to 30% from major companies .
........…....
Germany's economy is shrinking as Tariffs on German
cars, other trade barriers, and a lack of modernization
leaves Germany limping into a recession before the end of
2019. Merkel is leaving as well, setting up a power struggle
in German politics at a time when the country needs stability
and a major transformation of Europe’s most powerful
economy. “The external backdrop is persistent weakness in
global demand amid re-escalated U.S.-China trade tensions
and the increased likelihood of a no-deal Brexit,” said
Iaroslav Shelepko, an economist at Barclays.........
what do you think ? do you think its going to happen ?
if so, what would be the impact on international students ?

High demanding IT skills depend on which area, web dev, software dev, mobile, dev, DevOps(hottest kid on the block), AI(this is very broad), data science...........and so on.

But with Web Dev, you can't go wrong. (learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular, React, ) for frontend. (Java, Php, Nodejs) for backend.

You can start with HTML CSS, then move to Javascript, and then React before Angular for frontend development.
For backend, I would say learn JAVAEE with ( Spring/Hibernate) and Nodejs. But if you are already proficient in Javascript, then perfect your backend skills with Nodejs and learn other frameworks to it.
All in all, programming is not all about what language you are proficient in, it is about how to analyse and solve problems. Your architecture and logic implementations are what makes you a good developer. This is where a good knowledge of data structures and algorithm come into play.

See just stay focus and forget all this IT hype, learn German and follow your passion. If you jump ship because people are saying so,hmm. The grass is not always green on the other side.

The first question is who are the target people and their language of communication? Once you recognize and accept this fact then know you are good to go.
