sod09:Yeah. I think the mistake I made was not me clarifying that it's at anfield I would want such tactics. To be sincere bro, anfield na different ball game. Those guys are normally "mad" when they're at home, forget our game at Emirates or first goal Niles scored. Tbh, when Niles scored, I wasn't so happy cos I don't want to be so disappointed. I was just praying for a draw that day. Tho I didn't expect such thrashing tho. Come to think of it, those guys haven't lost a game since ages at anfield. I think the last game they lost there was against Burnley 0-2 (might be wrong tho). Even man city with Guardiola, A whole guardiola o, went there with a conservative mindset a almost came out with a win b4 killing them off at etihad. Also I feel it might be too early to meet them(if it's at anfield) for our signings to actually gel, but if it's Emirates, then I can be optimistic for a win. |

BlueRayDick:Yes bro, the same record we had over them in Emirates is same record they've over us at anfield(we both mostly beat each other at our respective home games). The difference tho is that they score more goals at anfield against us, than us scoring more goals against them at Emirates. So if it's at Emirates, fine, I'm hoping for a win, but if it's at anfield, I believe we should just play conservative. |

..... I was critical of Ozil's performance last season but I thought he was fine during the pre-season and this season could be better than the last for him but since that attack, Omo he don red for am oh. This is clearly becoming more than a robbery or something. We might not see him on the field in time and even if he plays, his head might not be right. I am really feeling for the nigga. He and Kolasinac. Kolasinac's new wife don japa commot for England, talk say she no dey come back. See wahala ![]() ... Mesut Ozil steps up his security with 24-hour dog patrols outside his home and Sead Kolasinac go into hiding after getting caught up in gang war. |

Are we sure these Liverpool players are not doping. See how Chelsea players are panting, Liverpool playing like it’s just 10mins into the match. |

Fkhalifa:4231 should do it so we choke the midfield. We need pace and experience. I no won see Guen on starting line up on that day I remember we played 1-1 first leg of last season when we had our players fit. They are beatable |

kokaneprodigy:Hmmm, This line up is good on paper but I'm doubting it at Anfield, Auba isn't the defending type, that LW will be run ragged by Anold and Sallah, Monreal won't be protected, Xhaka torreira suffered at Anfield last time, Xhaka has no pace and will lose the ball much when put under pressure, Torreira gets tired around 70mint, But if they can slow the ball down and possess the ball for long, that'll be fine..Ozil,ceballos shouldn't contest running with them, just hold it, pass it simple and slow, then set up our pacy forwards on the counter.. Liverpool are beatable at the Emirates, but Anfield is a different war entirely. |

kokaneprodigy:exactly if they can get ball in midfield they become disorganize, you see VVD loading ball to sallah or mane, Robertson and Arnold becomes useless |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by sod09(m): 11:14pm On Aug 14, 2019 |
Fkhalifa:that is why xhaka and torreira need someone in ozil or ceballos that can hold and available for the ball also know what to do with the ball. No way Arnold will go forward knowing well auba is also fast. I can only say sallah will destroy monreal |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkhalifa(m): 4:24am On Aug 15, 2019 |
sod09:The 3 men in the middle will determine a lot about the game, if they can shield, posses and look for forwards on the counter. I think Auba is fast, direct and knows what to do from the CF or RW position than left..He'll either have to cut and shoot or Cross for Laca/pepe who can score headers well. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 8:43am On Aug 16, 2019 |
..... Xhaka is injured, a slight keg bruise but he will be assessed to see if he can start. He is extremely crucial to how we play and shouldn't be risked for the forthcoming games. I hope Guendouzi and Willock and Mhki will be ready to take the Midfield in his absence but I won't be surprised if Ceballos and Torreira starts ahead of the two up there. I don't Pepe will start but if Emery feels he is ready then he will. ... LINE-UP - Leno - AMN - Sokratis - Luiz - Monreal - Xhaka/Guendouzi - Guendouzi/Torreira- Ceballos/ Mhki - Lacazette - Auba - Pepe/Mhki..... We might have Ozil and Kolasinac on the bench this time. ... We have to win this game. Winning against lower oppositions is massive to securing top four this season. |

While others are obsessed and continue to perseverate about the Liverpool fixture which is in 2 weeks, I am taking it one game at a time. My focus is squarely on Burnley and how we must get the maximum points tomorrow and if possibly with a clean sheet, nothing more! |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 3:19pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
Roland17:.... True! Last season when we thought that top four was as assured only for the team to lose against Everton away and Crystal palace at home and then draw with Brighton. One game at a time indeed. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 3:50pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
solomonbrown64:Why would Chambers be dropped after such an impressive performance against Newcastle. I think it's bad for morale and a negative sign for other youngsters in the squad. Reason why we lost Rene-Adelaide, and co. Chambers was Fulham's player of the season despite being a loanee. Again I think Ozil will start. He is better than Ceballos and Mkhi unless he proves otherwise. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 4:09pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
Spy360:..... Chambers was solid against a very poor Newcastle side and we also struggled to move the ball from the back because of the two centre backs who couldn't especially Chambers. Luiz is a better and far more experienced defender than Chambers and he is one of the best center backs in the league when it comes to playing from the back. The coach is after results and not spoiling any one's game. Even Chambers himself knows Luiz is the better defender. ( read his recent quotes about him.) .... Moreover, Chambers won Fulham's player of the season playing in midfield, he didn't do well in defense. It was Newcastle bro, let's not get carried away here. ... Ozil might start, it's not a sure thing. He only just returned to training. I think people just overkill Mkhi on this thread, he actually created lots of chances against Newcastle just that his final ball was always over hit. He will get it right, he is close. I see him starting. Ozil is better at creating chances, yes; but right now, it's who is ready and not who is better. Mhki is ready, not sure about Ozil at this point. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 4:20pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
solomonbrown64:Luiz is better than Chambers no doubt. My point is in giving him another game as a reward for a good performance. It's Burnley, so an extra game won't be too expensive. We need to start giving youth place. Players are over priced, the more home bred the more stable the club will b e financially. Taking a look at Chelsea, though born out of necessity, their team look more exciting due to the injection of young blood blended with experience. Definitely, Luiz will take his place as starting CB, but as long as Chambers keep making the grades, he shouldn't lose his position. It will give a positive signal to other young players in the squad, and also add value to the player in case we choose to sell. Look at Rene-Adelaide, after just one season with Angers is now worth 23m. If we had played him last season he would have gone for no less than 30m. Just as Iwobi. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 4:45pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
Spy360:. We have Liverpool and Tottenham after tomorrow's game so the coach might want to bed in the new signings quickly and improve our overall passing which starts from the back. Yes, it is good to reward good performances but just because Willock did fine against Newcastle doesn't it mean that If Ozil is ready tomorrow, Willock should start. It doesn't work like that except if the kid is incredibly talented and that's not the case with Chambers. There are many games this season and he will start most of the cup competitions and the premier league pending injury. .... Rene won't be the player he is now if he stayed back at Arsenal. He wouldn't have gotten the minutes he had last season if he was here. That's the problem with youngsters. Chelsea have no choice but to use them because of the ban. As a club, we have been through this journey before and it didn't turn out well for us. Yes, it produced talented players like Ox, Wilshere, Gibbs and the king of them all - Fabregas but at what cost? A lot of them turned to shit despite the time given to them and we won nothing with them and got little in terms of monetary value. The idea that the young players will come good made us make nothing out of them, this thought softened the blow of losing Iwobi. ... Now, we sell the kids, if they come good and become world beaters, it's all good. They get sold and we get millions from sell-on clauses or we realize quickly that they might not be world beaters at least with us and get sold for good prices just like the case with Iwobi and that polish defender we sold to Derby. It's the new, ruthless regime we have now. The same thing will happen to the present youngsters except they prove they deserve to be playing for a top team else they get sold. |

@Solomonbrown64, your point taken. But based on the comparison you made (Ozil and Willock) taking off Chambers for a volatile Luiz must be on the basis that Luiz is ABSOLUTELY or UNQUESTIONABLY better than Chambers right now, something I don't believe especially after his last performance. If that is the case then good enough. At least Chambers would respect the decision. We need competition in every department. Players shouldn't have the impression that starting is their birthright. They have to earn it- the way Leno displaced Cech last season. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 6:35pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
Spy360:.... Lol, obviously not the case with Chambers and Luiz but it's similar. Competition is good and in this case creates a platform for younger players to learn from older, experienced ones. Chambers could build on this and displace Sokratis, who knows but that's the message the board and coach is trying to pass across. Do well and you can displace anyone. Your place has to be earned in the team. Spot on bro. A win tomorrow and another clean sheet will only ginger the guys for Liverpool's game. Yes, it's Anfield but we can do it. COYG! |

Let's go boys... COYG!... I am surprised Nelson and Willock starts ahead of Mhki but regardless, let's do another clean sheet today. |
