Barely 96 hours after landing in New Delhi for medical treatment, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has discharged himself from the Medenta Hospital and is now on his way back to Nigeria.

The President, Media Forum of IMN, Ibrahim Musa, confirmed to our correspondent that El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, who were airborne, left New Delhi around 5:00 p.m. Nigerian time.

Musa in a statement blamed alleged interference by the Federal Government for the scuttling of the IMN leader’s planned treatment.

It said, “Following lack of breakthrough in the impasse that ensued in the treatment in New Delhi of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, it is now confirmed that the Sheikh is on his way back to Abuja.

In a video message sent through his office, the Sheikh said it was decided that they will be taken to the airport to be flown back to Nigeria. He has left Delhi by 17:00 Nigerian time. He prayed that may that be the best option in the circumstances.

The group added, “The Nigerian government’s interference and scuttling of the whole process rather than supervision as ordered by the court is the direct cause of the impasse.”

The government never wanted the medical leave in the first place, and did whatever to stop it by all means possible,” Musa alleged.

Go and check history and you will come to terms that elzakzakys parents are original igbiras from okene that settled in Zaria , just like many other tribes that peacefully settled in different parts of northern Nigeria .Go back to school

The man said in his interview that he was not allowed to have his own doctors in India to treat him. According to his words, they wanted to succeed through the hospital in India what the bullets did not succeed in doing to him in Nigeria. He apparently had doctors he frequented in that hospital in India before his arrest.

I really don't know why someone would choose to go to India. This man can afford to ask to go to a European country or an advanced Muslim country for treatment. It is even risky for the government to take him to a place like India. The government should not have accepted because India is not the best place for medical. Any mishap, the government would straightaway be accused of conniving with doctors to kill him. It is good he is returning. Let him return and a solution would be found later on for where to take him to extract his bullet fragments in his body that's causing him lead poisoning and treat his other ailments.

But why is his wife also detained with him? What did she commit? Why not release the poor woman? I learnt she is a Yoruba woman from Oyo. Her health is reported not good too. She's even on a wheelchair.

These are parents that have lost six grown sons to the bullets of soldiers. One cannot really consider them as mentally stable anymore.
