A day after ordering the dismantling of military checkpoints nationwide, President Muhammadu Buhari has relaxed the rule.

Abdulazeez Yari, governor of Zamfara state and chairman of the governors’ forum, said on Tuesday that the governors told Buhari the order was “untimely” because of the security challenges facing the states.

“But Mr. President cited some incidents that happened at the military checkpoints but where necessary, he has given the chief of army staff the permission that they can continue especially in the north, south-east and the frontline states,” he said.
The frontline states are where the counter-terrorism operations are currently taking place in the north-east.

“We discussed the issue of frontline states as regards insurgency: Borno, Yobe and Adamawa. The president briefed us on his meeting with the G7 countries who have agreed to support the Nigerian government to fight the insurgency to the last.

“Also, it was noted that the insurgency has done so much damage to our infrastructure – schools, hospitals, and bridges. The president said he has put a committee in place to go and assess the situation and he has also made a commitment that he will not request money from any G7 country but support to rebuild the destroyed infrastructure,” Yari said.

I always knew the previous order was not in the best interest of the nation.
This arrangement is quiet better!

But dis idea of saying one thing today and reversing it the next day can be chronic signs of Agedness, Senility and Amnesia...according to Doctors!

babaonechance doesn't know what he's doing. God help us.

If you guys listened to the address to Journalists by the perm sec, Ministry of defense after the meeting with the service chiefs yesterday, He alluded to what Gov Yari said today.

Infact, see from the article posted

But Mr. President cited some incidents that

Obviously the Govs themselves didn't watch the news yesterday hence PMB had to bring them up to speed. He and the Chief of Army staff already decided that and the Perm Sec, Ministry of Defense clearly said so yesterday.

What about the South South? Because I believe removing military presence from key locations might inspire some people to take up arms, because trust me when I say 'The Nigerian Police Force is almost useless' to curb these guys.

Exactly. The problem is, TheCable does a terrible job at reporting, and the saTANoids can't read and comprehend, even if their lives depends on it.

Bro, don't mind the group of the confused who never listen to news but are first to rush to post. PMB didn't make any reversal. The perm Sec Ministry of defense already made this clarification yesterday while chatting with journalists after the meeting. It was on channels TV at least.

If they even read the OP, they would have seen Yari acknowledge that PMB said he had already told the army chief that

TheCable is simply looking for traffic and the TANoids already have a picture they wish to see so TheCable simply helps them satiate their longings and fantasies. The Soyinka misconstrued lecture comes to mind.

You can see by their responses that they didn't even read the OP.

Anyway, It's their choice bro
