with the resources we have we should be displaying a lineup opponents will be wary of. Instead we take conservative approach. Imagine Ozil coming in for Ceballos after 60 or 70mins and vice versa or Guen coming in for Torreira since he shines more when he starts off the bench, subs like Mikki for Pepe etc. but Emery must find a way to make things difficult.
The good thing is that we now have options. With more natural wingers, our present squad is better than last season's .

Great game today and Ceballos did what i was hoping for and gave us a santi like performance. Honestly, this is where in my opinion, Ozil will flourish the most. Having two excellent ball retaining and distributing midfielders is something we have missed for a while. The key though is having a tough tackling and intelligent Defensive midfielder in their midst. Sadly Neither of Xhaka or Guen is there yet. If you ask me, there will be games were i would prefer to move David Luiz into a Dm role and play ceb and ozil in the middle. I dont expect anything from anfield to be honest but if Pepe Clicks with Laca and Auba and the midfiled can create for them, it's light out for defenders in the league.

Honestly i have never fancied this back three tactics. Arsenal were invincibles playing a standard 4-4-2 . The only difference was that we had exceptional players in that era that played some unbelievable football. Hopefully with Don Raul and the new restructuring of the team, we are beginning to put together a team of talented and hardworking players whom i beilive can play and master the 4-4-2 to perfection no matter the opposition. Its not the tactics that win you games but having the right players to carry out the game plan to perfection, They must also have the right attitude. Whether its back three or back four, if players can't do simple things like move the ball quickly, make sure they stop crosses and avoid long balls bouncing in the 18yard box, but above all maintaining a disciplined and compact system of keeping not more that 10 to 15 yards of each other when they are without the ball to make it hard for opponents to break through the defense, and wingers helping out the full back. Then i'm sorry we will still lose games regardless of the 3 or 4 at the back.

The space burnley had at times was worrying and if it were a better team we would have been punished. ANM is the weakest link in my opinion cos he makes unnecessary errors at key positions. Its okay to bomb forward and join the attack but primary responsibility as a full back is still to defend. Against better wingers , i dont think he will stand a chance which is why we need Hector asap. One person whom i beilive is the darkhorse is that team is martinelli. Just like Pepe, i love his football pace which is scary. Honestly that boy is something else and some may think pepe is quick but martineli is just as quick plus his technique is awesome. I hope he will get his time and can be called upon in crunch time.

One game at a time so its unto the next game COYG!
you are very right about David luiz he's a liability at the back if only we have a better option we can play him at the defensive midfield that's where he flourish.
Since everyone have given up on the LFC game Emery should use it as experiment using luiz, ceballos and ozil/ willock at midfield

We could use it to finish games, especially when leading. Its a counter attacking formation.
.... True! While I am not excited about that particular game, I am excited about our prospects this season.

Sadly its true though. Same Mourihno that did wonders with the Lampards , DECO, DROGBA and Terry's of this world was Not able to replicate same at Man U. Pep is know for clearing out players to bring in his own type of superb ball retention and distribution type players (even goalies) The tactics will always be there but the players need to execute.

Liverpool would surely press from the midfield and the front line...

They play a very very high line...

We just can't beat their press easily so we need runners who won't gas out fast to intercept and win balls back...

If we can get our acts right and be disciplined, we can score a few goals...

Scoring against Liverpool isn't that hard but can we prevent them from scoringhuh

The main battle in the match is in that midfield, once we win the midfield battle, we have a very good chance...

I predict 3-3.. lipsrsealed

Before u read note that I ain’t picking on anyone.

I want to ask. With the slow pace of our game particularly the midfield don’t u think Liverpool will outrun us?

Also I’m not particularly impressed with the vision of some of our midfielders, most often than not the opponent easily predict their passes. Also they hardly pick out players running into open space.

Just my observation. Cos yes we won but it’s a game we could have lost too or shared points with Burnley. I’m glad we got away with our shortcomings but we have to note we can’t get lucky week in week out.
I don't get why the emphasis is on Liverpool. They are just one of other 19 teams. If you do well against others it will be a very good season. It will be difficult to match Liverpool and city fitness at this point.

there is something called making a statement. There are certain teams you need to beat to put fear in other opponents. It’s called psychological warfare. There’s a reason teams set up to sit back against Liverpool and City, that alone already put both teams at an advantage.

We need to beat Liverpool at best get a draw after a good performance to make upcoming opponents wary of us. It puts us at an advantage psychologically. Burnley will never play City the way they played us yesterday.

Emphasis on Liverpool cos we play them next

Tactics and players will always go hand in hand. You can't get rid of tactics as a coach even if you've 20messis playing for you.

Just take a look at the names you mentioned up there and compare with any of the players in manU. By the way, my man still won Europa with that useless club cheesy

Did ndibabe hack your account or posses you? Well, we always have that pessimist. Besides, I didn't watch yesterday's match cos I and my babe were out and she seized my phones numerous times cos I dey check update so I can't judge really. I feel arsenal should sit back and counter against liverpool. They can have the midfield. Games can be won without the midfield. Spurs showed that yesterday, and they showed that last season in the champions league.

Start scoring 3 goals plus against smaller teams, you will get that fear factor.

The thing just dey wonder me. I just dey observe all this loserpool debate since yesterday o.

See Tottenham lásán standing up to almighty man city in their dreaded home ground yesterday as if nothing dey happen.

Even the loserpool team hasn't even been at their best in recent times.

based on recent performance u can’t call Tottenham “lasan”. Then Arsenal will be “lasan lasan”.

Tottenham are lásán because they only finished one point ahead of arsenal despite all the hullabaloo of last season. They lost a final the same way arsenal did.

There is absolutely nothing special about them. They ended up last season trophy less same as arsenal.

Except by 'recent performance' u mean theeir first two games of this current season which they wọn one and drew the second against city.

Maybe if they win at least carling cup or FA cup sha ó, they will stop being lásán

Tottenham is ordinary, I wonder how pundits in England live with their hypocrisy.
This so called spurs have been spending and yet no trophy to show but they tagged wengay trophy less man until he won 3 fa cups in 4 season with community shields they even branded those trophies spoons.
I wonder what will happen here next week if arsenal eventually defeat Liverpool
