Advice to those intending to join the military.

Don't let unemployment drive u to join the Armed Forces. The overriding reasons should be passion to serve and deep love for the nation. Without the overriding reasons, you become a problem to the military, your family and yourself. Furthermore when the reality of combat comes, you would refuse to face it. The military is service to the nation and humanity not an employment outfit for everyone, which requires courage and strong desire to give your all...This should not sound as a demoralisation to those who applied. But those that reason well will understand...

Many will apply upon being shortlisted they will say they're not turning up for screening, last exercise was a mess. If you know say you no go show I take God beg una make una no even apply come begin waste slot.
But one thing remains sacrosanct everyone must die, how you die is what makes you a man.

Yea man I was expectant of my call too last recruitment when many igbos to be precise deserted the selection camp thus leading to the Army inviting people by phone call. Please I'm louding it more, if you no get the mind no apply biko. don't waste slot for us, I personally if I dont get into the military I dont think I'm fulfilled as a person. I keep resigning from civil jobs like seresere cos I know its not my way. I'm not giving up in this recruitment for if I don't make the list again I'll still apply till I'm out of age. Guard up coursemates!

Here’s what I know about the medicals, talking from my experience as a recruitment official last year.
1) Have a good sight(long sightedness)
2) Don’t be flat footed
3) Have a broad chest
4) Asthmatic patient will not be allowed
5) Measure the required height
6) Be able to run 3.5km under 10/15minutes(for guys) unless they’ll close the gate and you wouldn’t be able to enter, please for this part don’t eat heavily or take drugs like tramadol because the one I was a part of as an official some persons died. So start training.
7) Have a good dentition
Your navel must be inside(not having umbilical hernia)
9) You must not have pile disease, Just so you know you all would be naked in the hospital room and you’ll have to bend down opening your anus and coughing at the same time for them to confirm if there’s any pile.
Confirm that all your documents are intact. A single mistake in DOB can screen you out. Feel free to ask questions if you wish. Regards!

i was disqualified last year for having umbilical hernia, i was told by one of the officer's dat it can be removed...i am thinking of doing dat but am afraid hope this scar wont be an issue.

My experience from last recruitment screening exercise (SSC)
1. Zero your mind because e no b any ordinary recruitment screening. You'll seat on gravel for 6hrs atlst daily
2. Respect de Cadets when de come because dem must show face.
3. Keep spare white and blue for interview (white canvas too)
4. Never be late for food.
5. Read current affairs and your course of study for test and interview.
6. Embrace the weather.
7. Make sure u can do atlst 30 pushups.
8. Don't let someone from your state bring u down... He's ur brother, yes, but remember he's also ur competitor.

Last enlistment I started completing 3.7 in 15 minutes then I won't stop, I'll jof back home.

Gap teeth is like having dimples, it can't disqualify u. As for the second question, I believe yes though you will be checked by female officers.

Having Gap teeth can't be a problem especially if d teeth is not removed from the Central incisors as in (Open teeth).
But if one of d Central incisors was removed before, there is problem. Cos Somebody from my state was disqualified last SSC on that issue.

Anyone can check you male or female doctor. A brother was checked by a female doctor last screening... SSC

You'll have to zero your mind every single moment....from when you're shortlisted to when you're on the job... You are expected to always zero your mind... With that you won't care about the gender to check your unclothedness...

It's a baga job, you zero your mind till last breath.

My first time of applying for this. Should I start training now or I should wait till they shortlist. I don't want to be burning unnecessary energy. I'm fit naturally but I know the exercise will be demanding.

Now I'm not so experienced but from last SSC screening let me drop this here :
*Zero your mind for kd cold trust me it's really cold.
*Prepare to double up even from point A to B
*Ensure you don't buy job as those military police are eager to use you and shine
*You'll sit on gravel under the sun until you can't feel your azz anymore.
*Don't think it's nysc camp where you can get hot water to bathe.
*Don't form over familiarity with the men on uniform
*Beg your village people so your salala can look neat or close to neat at all times
*Be prompt to the mess else if they've called your state in and you're not yet there you're on your own.
*You can be smart enough to smuggle in your phone
*MRS is at your disposal, make use of it should the need arise.
*Current Affairs should be your best friend.
*Have extra whites and if possible canvass for the board interview.
*Stay away from certificate forgery because if caught emmmmmmmm, even God will deny you of mercy.
*Ensure you're medically fit, if you're shortsighted or colour blind find a way around that.
*Ladies if you're on ensure to wash up so blood won't be found in your urine
*Ladies stay away from gossiping and focus on your reason for being there.
*Sleep will become a luxury.
*Ladies stand a higher chance of making the final selection once your certificates and medicals are good to go.
*Those cadets will want to take your life but thank God for little mercies they're not allowed to go extreme during screening. Don't even smile at them, infact just hide when you see them.
*Drop your worries at the gate, cos high bp is an unfriendly enemy in the race.
*Carry pocket money and some extra. You might want to refresh yourself.
*Get basic provision if you can
*Ladies keep the makeup and serenre to a bare minimum else you'd be picked on everytime.
*Above all my darlings in this race, make up your mind not to dash. Dashing is the greatest act of cowardice.

Victory is from God alone as we sail towards course 46/25.

I can’t really say for sure but the thing is any individual who has a strong godfather would be shortlisted, the army says they don’t let individuals with tribal marks, k leg and others yet I know officers that possess this, so the thing is who do you know?
