So I'll be traveling to the USA and I plan on taking a lot of foodstuffs like dry fish, seasoning, egusi, etc.

But somebody told me that they don't allow maggi through the airport, so I don't know if my seasonings will be safe. My seasonings include things like jollof and fried rice seasonings, berbecue seasoning, etc. And they are plenty.

Can anyone verify this information for me please?

Op all you listed can go including maggi. Only palm oil won't go. They will only ask you for egunje to carry all what you mentioned but palm oil won't go.

Messes up with people's luggage when it melts. Come carry it frozen if it's a short flight. Eg to some places in Europe

Just don't take any seasoning they wrote beef cube or chicken cube eg Knorr chicken. They will trash it. Ensure your fish doesn't have maggots, they will trash it. Don't take any fresh stuff/ vegetables

Yes Icing palmoil but it has to be in a very small bottle like that small coke bottle. Still I doubt if it will be allowed. Try icing it. They might just collect egunje for it

Very easy, pour into a zip lock, put into the freezer. Freezes up in no time. Then wrap with water proof and spellotape when you wanna travel. You can also freeze in a white jerrycan or Eva bottle, but mind you that would have more weight. If you have the space though then you can do that.

correct guy, i don't understand their obsession with foodstuffs, I'll carry clothing materials since they tend to be far more expensive there.when we reach there, we adapt to whatever local food is cheaply available there.

It very difficult to get Naija type of maggi here ( except in africa store at very high price ), Canadians generally dont use maggi nor seasoning at such, they dont like spicy foods, so their foodstuff here is junk to me. See this food plate below was served as turkey dinner, it has no salt, no ingredient and no spice (meshed potatoes without salt, boiled carrot, boiled turkey without salt or pepper, semi-cooked egg, jam etc).. The day I ate it, damn it was tasteless
Bro an adage says when you live in Rome you do like the Romans
I won’t go any further grin

You see the reason why people carry food along when travelling out. Even African foods is Gold here. People pay higher to get african foods stuff abroad. Then only cheaper substitute you get are indians foodstuff in groceries.
