@ Dominion191, If there is still an inch of good in you, which I believe there is,kindly do the needful tomorrow! Dont be among those who makes innocent online buyers scared of trusting other people with their hard earned cash. Kindly be that good guy, looking forward till tomorrow.

God bless you jare, that's how it should be done. Its all about dignity and respect.

Stop begging this guy...so many site has fraud alert and nairaland is not an exemption....nairaland has never adviced anyone to send money to stranger over a car picture....that is not trust but blind trust....If it were to be in Lagos I can assure us that this criminal won't go unpunished...

I'm not begging him! I personally called him on Saturday when this issue came up! And trust me I already told a high ranking police officer at the police force headquarters in Abuja about the development! I have been a victim of scam in the past on few occasions! And it's all because I trust too much, and being scammed hurts like crazy! I sent that message to him cos of his apology earlier on. Well if he chooses to go the dark part, trust me the innocent buyer would get his money unless seller run commot for naija.

BRO, I'd deal with you without seeing u.... cos u have a rep to uphold and protect and most of all,..... you have a history on NL with trails here and there......

I dealt with timifakay, pattybf and some other people without seeing them.... because of history and rep.....

I cannot deal with someone who just opened moniker today and claims he has sold on jiji for 2,000 years....

that's the diff BRO.... this guy is probably a scam

the vehicle price, the lies here and there, the claims of royalty all spell scam.....

what's our business with him being a governors aid on a thread for car sale?

I'd be surprised is he isn't a scam.... there is probably no vehicle sef and op probably isn't in warri....

To be honest after he deleted the topic, the pictures and his info! I concluded it was a scam! After that apology today, there is a chance he had a rethink due to something best known to himself.

Like I said, tomorrow is here, which ever way it is,o.p is not alone in this!!!

this is why it is very important to research.....

I can deal with a lot of NLDers without seeing them, it's a risk I'm willing to take.... but not after doing my research on the personality I'm dealing with....

people should earn that trust.... it doesn't come cheap but when it is earned it is golden!

I will be really surprised if this turns out to be a real deal......

the next step is to ask crested for some extra cash for some other contingencies encountered while trying to fix the gear.....

that's the next line of action for these scammers.... so many victims out there with so many stories

Litus the name of the op.

He called me this morning to say I should have patient that he is fixing the car and would hand it over to me soon, i insisted on knowing when he said before Friday.

I offered to pay him his balance, pick the car as it is and tow it to ph for further repairs.

He said ok but that the mechanic has losened the gearbox and that I should wait for it to be coupled.

I asked him to have the gearbox put In the car boot, that I will tow everything like that.

op agreed to have that done.

He promised to call me this evening to let me know so I can plan my trip for tomorrow.

I told op I would be in warri tomorrow irrespective of his call

Don't be a fool, as far as I am concerned you may be dealing with a professional tout.

He is tactically maintaining communication to paint himself as genuine. If/when you get him arrested - eventually - it is only those communications he will present to the police - which he has recorded - as proof that it was a genuine deal gone bad and he is not a scam (both yours and gazzuzz's communication). After lying to cover up the rest.

I mentioned you earlier, hoping to avoid this scenario from happening, I no see reply.

Coming to warri wasn't necessary in the first place and accepting changes to the terms of engagement/agreement was unwise.

In such a scenario, maintain the original terms and accept nothing else, when/if police intervene, such little things really matter.

For all you know, you are chatting with someone who is in ghana and was never in warri to begin with, but you are still believing the guy is in warri

You have a bank account you paid money into, a phone number you have been calling, Grilovictor5 advert link and no car in your possession.

The minute he changed mouth, asking you to come and pick up car with no gear, after he gave you phone number of a delivery driver who claimed was close to port harcourt with your car (another stunt to still collect small cash from you), that was when you should have walked into EFCC office and dropped all the info you have.

If you want to come to warri, be my guest. In my opinion, just get the EFCC involved - not the police - the more you delay, the more tedious trapping this Nairaland High ranking aide to Governor Okowa........

Someone paid for a Camry of mine sometimes ago through online transfer, after waiting for 1 hour money didn't come through and I was in a hurry for a meeting,I almost told him to go with the car based on trust believing money would come through later, but the memories of old me being a victim to scam kicked in! He too was in a hurry to leave with the car. And then I stood my ground and replied him if money doesn't reflect u can't go with the car. He murmured for a while and said ok no p and left,we agreed to meet like 2 hrs later. Guess what? He never showed up and alert never came through! Thanks to Mother Mary,he would have just drove off with the car into the sunset grin And I will keep starring at my phone waiting for an alert from heaven till Jesus comes grin

The problem I have with most of us is that we fail to do due deligence before embarking on serious issues . There are things you have to do before buying a land. You have to get competent lawyer who will carry out investigation with a view to ascertaining the true status of the land in question. Most people are Kobo wise naira foolish....how much does it take to hire a lawyer who will go site the land and make necessary enquiry before payment ...? I have been in nairaland doing business for 10years , despite all the trust people have on me, I don't accept cash from someone I have not met before. Some buyers will tell me that they are outside Lagos ...I do advice them to come physically or send someone the trust ...otherwise no deal. I don't encourage paying for something you saw online without inspection...that is stupid trust.

apt and precise.....

at this stage where crested has agreed to different terms of engagement, he should still go to warri and try to see the vehicle even tho it
sounds like a pipedream to me tho....

2 important things to note crested

* Don't go to warri alone, you are in PH, u suppose know how far....

* Don't report the case in warri if/when u finally decide to

this case is not hard @ all, I'm surprised it has lingered this long sef... by now op supposed don run into hiding.....

I detest these scammers with a passion after I saw how they scammed an old pensioneer.... I was terribly heart broken seeing that man beg like he was created to beg

in fact I'm now angry with crested.....

Wednesday loading .... 10%

Another thing that has not been considered!
op advertised a vehicle for 480k with bad gearbox...
op has collected part payment for the advertised vehicle
op is allegedly fixing the vehicle with buyer's fund, "by himself"...

@ crested, there is only one way to go now..... collect ur money back! no stories.... because the vehicle of 480k u paid for can no longer be 480k again

all these are assuming there is a vehicle sef

u need to understand ur options when u finally decide to go the efcc way!
do not settle for less.....

they might compel u to be patient ET all but just make sure the case is for ur full refund plus logistics involved
Re: Sold by Mayor555(m): 8:53am On Aug 21, 2019
So this case is still here after the tuesday deadline.....

I'll go with ehissi on this. The op is a professional tout/criminal. Anyone noticed the way he has been lying and forming things not discussed with crested?

The apology reeks of lies and half baked truth...

Crestedaguiyi, make sure you see the car today, confirm if there's a car... The op might be scared of showing up at this junction.
When you see the car possibly in a mechanic shop, you can ask questions...
