For proof of funds please can I use only my dollar account bank statement where I have had money saved in for more than 6 months... very very minimal inflow/outflow as it’s a savings account but a good closing balance, slightly above 10k.

Can I use that instead of my naira salary account bank statement as the naira account closing balance is very low at the moment. Please is this okay?

Schengen through France takes a while now. When I submitted in June I didn’t get my passport till middle of July almost 6 weeks and it was a renewal. It’s a gamble. Except you want you go ahead and if you need to submit for Canada you can request your passport back and then resubmit back.

I’m sure there are other beautiful countries there, but France for make sense oooo.lol, so during submsssion of Doc’s you also submitted your passport and they were with it for 6 weeks, just want to get you perfectly clear, thanks again

Hello guys, please I still did not know the right application forms to print and complete for a visa for conference purpose. I am the only applicant, and I am married.

Can someone advice if the below forms are the correct forms for me to complete:



(1) Form 5257

(2) Form 5257 Schedule 1 because I answered YES to the Background Information in Form 5257

(3) Form IMM 5645 Family Information

But I am seeing another Family Information form as IMM 5707? Which one is the correct Family Information form?

Any other form to complete in my category?

I am an Irish residence permit holder but I have decided to apply from Nigeria during my short visit and also because Nigeria is the best-centred I have my assets in. However, I am not sure if I can be able to get a decision within 3 weeks for paper application? I have no idea about Canadian visa application, so your answer and advice will be greatly appreciated. Finally Day 57 (Applied 24th June ) checked my TRV application status via GCKey and saw that my eligibility review has commenced (No email notification was sent).

"Review of eligibility Help - Review of eligibility"
We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
"Final decision Help - Final decision"
Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Hopeful to get a favorable response .. Anyone knows how long it'll take from Eligibility review to final decision? and for all June applicants have your status also changed ?

sometimes consulars need stubborn applicant...i wld av prefer you hold on to the appeal ...if its taking too much time, all u av to do is to send them a comprehensive emotional letter.....cos the visiting visa applicatn might seems to them like you want to get in at all cost...let me share my case with u, i apply online to visit my wife and daughter and dey refuse me, i was mad cos reason was travel hist and econmy ties of which av bn all over d world except canada,china & australia..i reapply via paper apps with letter indirectly asking dem to aplgz to me as i was refused wrongly....my visa was issued in 3wks...they knw dat if you are in you av means of gettn a permit....hwever i wish you postv respons on ur apps ..

Hi guys,

I did the paper application for a TRV (submitted at VFS on July, 17th). Yesterday August 21, I got a biometrics validity letter from the embassy. What does that mean? Does it mean I'll get a response soon? Also, I've not been able to link my application online even though I now have a UCI and application number

I just got an email saying my application has been accepted and passport is ready for collection.

Apologies for delayed response. Everybody has been quite bizi I guess. This is the end of the year and so, deliveries tied to a deadline need to be concluded before year-end hence, the delay in people's response to your case. Now, concerning your ties in canada...did you submit any invite and what's the status of the person inviting you...does he/she have enough funds to host you and did you submit proofs alongside your application? If your intended travel was on tourism, you don't need any invite but you must state clearly in your itinerary, places and events of interest you wanted to attend. Hope you did all these. If you've not exceeded your stay while in the UK and US and you've got a good job, you might just have to relax, for now and reapply a few months later because the current economic situation of our country isn't funny at all. Applicants, who have not abused visa privileges in their entire lives and haven't been refused visas in the past just like you, were refused Canada visa in recent times. I remember that banker with his family who submitted quite impressive documents alongside their applications with valid US visa on their passports. They were still refused eventually. In the past, case-specific applications wouldn't have issues. Even if the event an applicant was going to attend had passed, he/she would still get a Canada visa, if the VO is satisfied with the visa application but in recent times, a case-specific application was refused. It's not funny. I read it here that the reason for refusal was that, the event he was going for, had passed. I had applied to attend a training in the past and a decision was made a few days after the end of the training. I still got my visa and the training was rescheduled by our manufacturer due to this... I got 4 years multiple. A lot of applicants here who wanted to go for tourism, conferences and annual leave were issued visas after their intended missions had passed. All these happened this year. If you earn 2m monthly, as a family person, it's just 3,225USD and might not be considered to be enough for a family visa application because you're expected to have responsibilities and bills to settle out of the salary, on a monthly basis. Try and work on your finances and leave enough balances in your account before you reapply. While the US VO might consider your travel history in approving your visa application without dwelling much on your asset and finances in most cases, Canada will go beyond that. Your ties, personal assets and finance and travel history are considered as key factors by CIC in the course of their decisions in most cases . In my opinion, don't sound desperate by reapplying immediately. Try and give them some time. I've not tried applying for canada visa from USA but some said it had worked for them. You and spouse may reapply here in Nigeria since you work here. It's nothing to worry about. That you were refused now doesn't mean you won't be granted a visa when next you reapply. Just be honest with your documents, work on some weak areas and leave the rest in the hands of God. Cheers.

borvick: . l got a written letter signed by his dad giving consent to the trip with his younger sister. lm fully employed by Fed. Govt with a good salary, l have travelled to US and Uk and still have a valid US visa, l have Assets and also my statement as at the period of application was 2.8m with other cooperative letters, bank, and pensions statement. they refused based on family ties in Canada and home country, and personal assets and financial status ( I have other two girls here in Nigeria, l applied with one of them whos presently a 300L student, she had letter of introduction from her school and l provided her password on her school' site for their perusal). I submitted my employment letter, 4 promotion letters, pay slips, leave letter from my org, properties documents with my street naming approval, poultry business details as per time, letter of invitation from my son, his sch ID, Study permit approval, His Data page, Visas. I have different name with my son which has been there since l applied for his study visa. I don't know what exactly is the problem and how l can go about it.

Pls help a bittered mom.
