I am planning to buy phones for 3 of my people though on very tight budget. After my research, I want to settle for 1GB Ram +16GB ROM Android phone since the beneficiaries are not power users. Very few apps are needed mostly social media apps and banking apps. Can 1GB Ram phone run smoothly?

Additional, I am planning to go for Tecno Pouvior 3 Air (LC6) 1GB+16GB, opinion on this phone please.

Its all about needs, some cant afford to buy high end devices and care less about their RAM size.

for example the infinix smart 3 plus is for those who crave to have the same features of the S4 but cant afford it. Most of us will come online and shout without considering those who cant afford a midrange of high end device.

Allow people cut their coat according to their sizes.

Phones are becoming more advanced and having storage almost to a mid range laptop yes they are expensive but there are cheaper phones that are becoming better by next 3 yrs 1gb would become obsolete Pata pata

It is waste of money and it will frustrate their life after two months and it starts to hang. If u wants to elivates their frustration to madness, don't fail to patronise any of the trasson 1gb ram phone with super inferior old mediatek chips.

1gb ram is a no cuz it would be extremely slow

No but not everybody can afford expensive phones and it's a welcomed development for people who needs a smartphone on a limited budget

Still depends on the user. The op said he's buying it for someone. So if that someone is someone elderly that has no business with games or YouTube or other apps. Someone who just uses the phone for calls , sms and WhatsApp. Why do u need to waste money on an expensive phone? A 1gb Android go phone would do just fine for that person.

Exactly. For example if I'm buying a phone for a kid of 8-12 yrs. I'd get a 1gb Android go rugged phone. Can still play casual games and a those talking tom

It can, but it depends on what the user saves on it. You can check out the spark series too. They are pocket-friendly.
