How The 80 Arrested For Fraud by FBI Will affect car sales by GAZZUZZ(op):
The prices of very popular cars on most auction sites in the usa sky rocketed in recent years, the use of stolen cards at auctions made it very easy for fraudulent individuals to target cars that are easy to sell, buying at unfavourable prices at auction and selling for peanuts before or after they arrive the shores of Nigeria.

With the FBI'S big bust recently and copart changing payment policies we should expect a more favorable playing ground for car sales where competition is driven by demand and supply and not the availability of stolen funds .

Very likely scenario, but for the 80 arrested so far, there are a possible 8,000 still actively involved in this scam that 'clean' their money through car shipments

Most people will not be happy with what you just wrote, but only time will tell if the foreign security agencies will able to curb the rising menace of internet/identity theft.

Then you don't understand/comprehend his statement (and Likes garnered).

Let me try rephrase: A lot more than 80 people are involved in scam and using vehicle purchase to launder the proceed, Nigerians and non-Nigerians.
One of the major reason I am reluctant to stock almighty pure-water Corolla 03-07, you will see high auction participation for the vehicle thus sold at ridiculous price, and conversely selling lower than cost price in Naija: scammers only care about quick gratification (launder the stolen funds) not profit.

It is not yet uhuru; vehicle-financed scam, nay fraud won't stop with The 80 arrest. A lot more still needs to be done, most especially by our society.

With the recent crack down, a lot of "Yahoo Bois/men" will shy away from certain type of transactions this will include car auction sales. The searchlight is probing deeper into their activities and it is expected that a longer list will appear soon.

Of course.. Most of the sites that accepted Credit cards are now using vbv which require more informations about the card owners.

Most of the fraudsters are car dealers in Nigeria

Rubbish news! If you do not know about scam, then don’t bother writing anything about it. Stop giving people useless infos. CFO scam is way different from Auction scam. Auction(Especially car scams) are mostly done by Americans.

they would soon find a way, abi no be nigerians, this is a world wide multi billion dollars scam connecting russians , americans , chinese and nigerians in a powerful grade complex crime network.

The 80 igbos were just the lousy ones who got snitched on by one of them because they used their identities and account to foolishly luander proceed of fraud because of the little cut they make

this is why reasonable Boys would only transact with the Abok1s who are not lousy
