This is our problem. Our elders especially the so called human rights activists always want to give a spade a nickname instead of calling it spade. Chidi kalu wants the federal government to give assistance to the billionaire fraudsters all in the name of human rights.

That should suggest that the government has finished assisting those that genuinely require assistance and still have resources to waste on greedy thieves.

This is why there is a serious moral decadence in our society today. Since our elders have refused to stand firm and condemn evil. Otherwise, Abike Dabiri had simply asked those indicted to show up and defend themselves, that they will be given fair hearing. Failure to show up might warrant their extradition. What's wrong in that statement? But instead, human rights activists prefer government to pamper them and possibly congratulate them for their bravery.

Is this man truely a prof? His statement is disgusting! This is pure irrational thinking and submission! If a supposedly respected individual, father and brother to indicted fraudsters can say this in the public, then, moral values from more than average homes in that region has "gone on holiday". Indirectly, he is advising federal government to shield fraudsters from international embarassement. How can federal government bend so low to support criminality when the same government is fighting fraudsters and other forms of criminality locally? Abike Dabiri statement in this context is fair enough to a morally cultured society so that international communities will not see Nigeria as country that support criminers and fraudsters, otherwise, it will portray Nigeria as unserious in anti-corruption fight.

You should learn the meaning of indictment before commenting. Nigerian government has a duty to its citizens to protect not using media trials and accepting FBI online publications of fraud on a face values, it shows lack of tact . They are indicted does not mean that they are guilty. It is left for the FBI to prove this case beyond every reasonable doubt to a competent court with the presented evidences. Some of these guys may walk free at the end of the day.

I tired for this matter. On a patriotic ground nothing is wrong with the woman statement. I just pray Nigeria govt can get it right so that those brainy fraudsters can turn to brainy inventors

What the Diaspora Commission is in order;

They should be given fair hearing,
Those who are in different should turn themselves in,
Those who are guilty but escape to Nigeria may be extradited to the US to face trial.


All these don't preclude Consular assistance in Washington DC (under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Prof Odinkalu is just being unnecessary emotional.His outbursts is suggestive that the Nigerian Government should where possible prevent the trial of these alleged fraudsters.

You practically can't stop these people from supporting / promoting impunity.

There’s inferiority complex in her statement. The FBI’s facts are not Nigeria’s facts so she shouldn’t draw conclusions based on it until Nigerian authorities have done their own fact finding. Nah bro. What he is saying is that as a Sovereign nation we can’t make conclusions based on another nation’s facts. Despite’s the FBI’s reputation, if those were UK or Israeli citizens, the UK or Israel wouldn’t say “ok you guys turn yourself in, the FBI said you committed fraud” Nigeria has to do its own fact finding and then decide whether to extradite.

This is a dicey situation but for the sake of the nation, you have to be diplomatic by getting them an attorney band get briefing on their individual cases pertaining to each! we all saw how buhari played down the Ganduje video. I'm not saying the FG should throw her weight behind the fraudsters but be available to cover their proceedings, scam is scam but the height differs, some may just be fresher's and might get the same sentence with the veterans in the game.

It is more of ethnic bigotry. This is why we shouldn't even be one country.
