This is exactly the truth. The order given by the army captain to his men was that the men were actually kidnappers in police uniform and that the soldiers should get them down. Personnaly, I think only the army captain should bear the full brunt of the law, because he gave the order. Soldiers are zombies that carry out order given to them by their superior fully, even if the order was given to kill their mother, they would carry it out.
but bro, if you read the story, the police show the soldiers arrest warrant and prove that they are from the headquarter.

it was just mere misinformation and friendly fire..
The soldiers were misinformed that there was an incidence of kidnap. They engaged the police men thinking they were kidnappers.

So after killing them and finding out they were police men, they still took the kidnapper to their place and broke off the handcuffs and freed him

Is that a misinformed action? Or a deliberate act?

Wadume: DHQ panel concludes report, soldiers risk dismissal

https://punchng.com/wadume-dhq-panel-concludes-report-soldiers-risk-dismissal/

Dismissal for committing murder? This is a joke of a country. You kill 3 policemen and you get fired. What charge are they facing? What happened to murder and the consequences? This is such a useless country.

The best thing is for them to be sentenced with life imprisonment. Dismissing them will amount to public nuisance.

You guys are not seeing the real picture here. This soldiers will be court marshalled at worst, at best nothing will happen to them. The real arrow head behind this crime has been covered and will not be exposed. So will insecurity in this country will not be solved because the arrow head behind these insecurities who are making billions daily from these situation will remain covered until probably a change in government from PDP or APC or even those small parties who might be sponsored by these same criminals in power.

From his interview, the man is not a kidnapper and is not a local war lord of his tribesmen but a youth leader known to the governor of the state.

The army captain is actually his friend and therefore a beneficiary of his kindness... The man as no extensive network within the security structure as I had thought but by virtue of his political affiliation and leadership of the youth in his community he was bound to know some security people who came to his rescue thinking the worst had happened to him

Are you telling me that even serving policemen and soldiers are not part of kidnap team. A serving soldier was part of Evans group.

They'll dismiss them to face the charges levelled against them in court. That's how it's done.

I don't know if this is happening in some developed countries or if it is in naija alone that we have this problem.

The problem in Nigeria is that, everybody
want to Build his own house
Want to own a car by all means
Want to marry the most beautiful girl
Want to be as great as the other people are
Not minding what it take.

80% of those involved in recent frauds scandal has Nigerian highest in the list.

Why this internet fraud is not very common among these developed countries is because, people just get satisfy with the whatever can put food on the table and the ability to pay other bills.

Do we have to blame the government for our woe or we blame our greedy nature?
an ambitious person is termed greedy by lesser minds.

Its only ambition that would make a Nigerian travel abroad and work both shifts and over time just to make money.

If the government was doing the right thing people in this country wont be that desperate to do anything for wealth. Most people are left with no choice at all. its just them vs poverty. Instead of kidnapping or arms robbery they turn to fraud

Apart from the officers being court marriages and dismissed, they must be prosecuted by a competent court

A dishonourable discharge will see them automatically being handed to the police for prosecution

This is the level of our system failure, the insecurity in our nation today is hugely contributed by the security agents themselves.
God help Nigeria.

The issue we have about Nigeria security men is extra judicial killing. I remember seeing a group of young men arrested in Benin for snatching a car. How come they were shit dead and no one complained? But when it got to the police, everyone is complaining
oga this is not misunderstandings as u states it,those police identified themselves even after the incident but were still killed, its is also known that those policemen notify them bfr entering into ibi

The way forward is going back to our value system, where respect, pride, hard work and integrity are celebrated...we all are products of the system, it beholds on the custodians of our society, and we all to integrate these values in the young kids. Discipline, family bonds and respect is key for a child proper upbringing. We need to go back to move forward, and start the change from the grassroots, so tomorrow will be better. Otherwise nothing will change.

I only pity the poor policemen who actually thought that Nigeria security forces are actually fighting crime without realizing that we bade farewell to those days long long ago.

In today's Nigeria, criminals are celebrated, those who should fight crime see their job as an avenue to enrich themselves and live far above their earnings. Public officers in the security system are competing wealth with politicians and calling it sharing of national cake.

It's so bad that only petty criminals are being convicted. As it stands, any criminal who is worth 1 million naira can hardly be convicted except he does not know the right place to go.
Even in checkpoints, they only do stop and search for vehicles with less prestige while ignoring the real criminals in luxurious tinted glass vehicles.
Crime and killing of innocent people has become a regular and non surprising order in our roster. So many crimes have been committed in this country which the perpetrators where actually apprehended and deserve public execution or death sentence as prescribed by the law but the whole issue will just boil down to keeping hardened criminals who had confess to numerous killings of innocent citizens in luxurious prison to attend never ending court judgment until nothing will be heard about such criminals again.
Otherwise tell me why on earth someone like Evans is still alive and even bragging about his rights being violated?
Where is Oguche, the guy who was arrested and confessed to be responsible for nyanya bomb blast?

What happened to the cases of all the high profile criminals? Why isn't there a public awareness of how their conviction or case end, at least to serve as deterrent to teeming criminals?
The love for wealth of most public officers has killed the dutiful aspect of their minds.

Until we restructure our minds to know that humanity should be placed high above every other thing in the hierarchy, the peace and stability we crave can only be read on pages and not in reality.

Let's all embrace peace, shun corruption and wickedness in high places and follow the principle of "live, and let's live."

There is no better alternative to peace
Dear God, pls heal Nigeria and restore her glory.

Quite unfortunatewhat Nigeria has become ]
