Electricity problem is far beyond generation of power.

Its just pathetic the kind of system we have that is producing this set of heart less leader's we are having in this Nigeria. When we ought to be in this kind of league competing with innovations but we are here trowing banters on petty issues.
Its as if impossible to have stable electricity in Nigeria but a private University in Ogun has nulify that thought by building one thousand megawatts of electricity on its own, that projection is currently 20% of Nigeria's electricity output. Imagine how huge relief that project will be for Nigeria at large. Yet some people will say stable electricity is not possible in Nigeria.

Let's ask ourselves this question, what role has the public universities played in solving Nigeria's electricity problem in terms of research for stable national development. What solutions has the university communities provided to ensure our refineries are working (mauntainance and building).

Its time we begin to be strictly objective if really we wanna attain positive heights as a Nation.

Speaking of Power supply.. Some times I think that Nigeria and the Citizens are kind of lucky.

Let us say assuming that Nigeria is a country that has winter.. How will the citizens cope with the constant epileptic power supply especially when the temperature drops to -10 or less degrees?

If there is constant power, how about all these people who depend on generator biz and it’s subsidiaries for their livelihood? How’d they survive?

The only cheap, affordable and dangerous (if the fission is not control) is nuclear "Uranium 234" for source of electrical energy. It can also serve as source of heating during winter to nearby town if intended.

Samething was said before many state start banning okada "wetin the okada rider go do after the ban" but life goes on. If that one block, another way to make money will open. So its better to stop sympathising with them. Generator is a backup and shouldn't be main power supply.

Problem is, the biggest importers of generators and such are also the ones directly or indirectly responsible for deciding whether there should be constant electricity or not.

Sounds risky. Why aren't they deploying it in Russian waters?

Submarines and aircraft carriers have been powered by nuclear energy for several decades now.

I guess this just ups the ante a little bit and yes you're right, they are putting the whole world at immediate risk along with themselves. It's a pity the rest of the world outside the superpowers has no say in nuclear energy policy

The biggest issues right now are radioactive waste and pollution, nuclear safety, environmental justice, and the costs of nuclear energy. Nuclear power plants produce vast amounts of radioactivity in nuclear waste, some of which is in the form of used fuel, which isn’t consumed in the way that one imagines burning fossil fuels.

When you put nuclear fuel into a reactor, that fuel doesn’t get “used up” in the same way as burning fossil fuel. The nuclear waste has the same volume and mass when it comes out of the reactors as the nuclear fuel that went in several years earlier. But when it is removed to put in fresh fuel, the fuel rods are 6-8 million times more radioactive than when they went into the reactor. The splitting of atoms creates even more radioactive byproducts, but it is not consumed the way coal or natural gas do. The used fuel remains extremely hot for hundreds of years. Radioactive materials in the waste remain a threat to health, water, and the environment for hundreds of thousands of years.

As nuclear power plants age they not only become more dangerous and prone to safety problems, they also become extraordinarily expensive to operate. In the last few years, there have been a number of nuclear power plants that have started closing because it is no longer profitable for the energy companies that own them to continue operating them.

Russia on Friday launched the world’s first floating nuclear power plant. The huge 144-metre long tsunami-proof vessel, named the Akademik Lomonosov, after the 18th-century Russian scientist, is currently being towed 6,000 kilometres to the remote Siberian region of Chukotka, about 86 kilometres from the US state of Alaska.

Once docked, the 21,000-tonne barge will replace a coal-burning power plant and an ageing land-based nuclear plant, and supply about 50,000 people in the area with electricity, according to Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom.

ROSATOM in currently in talks with potential customers for the floating power unit. The company sees significant market potential in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa.

The vessel’s reactors can generate 70 megawatts of electric energy and 50 gigacalories an hour of heat energy. This is enough to power a city of up to 100,00 people for 40 good years non-stop, according to ROSATOM.

The vessel, the size of two football pitches joined together, also boasts a gym, swimming pool and bar to accommodate its 342 staff —— around 80 permanent and the rest on rotating shifts that revolve every six weeks.

The launch of this vessel comes just two weeks after a nuclear-powered engine blew up on a Russian naval test range in the Arctic, killing five nuclear engineers. Greenpeace activists warn this new power plant could become "Chernobyl on Ice" in future.

Do You Want A Bigger Version Of This Vessel To Power Nigeria, A Country That Currently Has A Population Of Over 190 thousand People?

All of their best minds want to be in America.

Regardless of Russia's oil and military power, their people are still miserable and suffering. They rely on oil and basically have nothing else.

https://borgenproject.org/10-facts-about-poverty-in-russia/

A large portion of China is miserable and/or poor too despite their progress over the last few decades. And they've only managed progress because America gave them their entire manufacturing industry, and white people aren't able to sabotage them like they do African countries. They've spent most of their existence fighting pointless wars instead of developing, and part of that was overproducing children to have more soldiers. Now, they have a population they can barely manage.

Japan has no resources, and much like the rest of Asia, their ideas are almost all imitations. Their rise has largely come from selling out Asia to white people. They're basically a base for the US military. And it's only over the last few decades that brain drain has cooled in Japan. Before, their talent couldn't wait to leave.
