Buhari just repeating all the foolishness he did as Head of State.

During those inglorious dark months of Buhari-Idiagbon tyranny, Buhari refused to honour our debt obligations claiming he did not borrow the money that they should ask Shagari.

The British govt then went to work seizing Nigerian assets including several Nigerian Airways aircrafts.

The man is a monumental disaster who sees governance as not a continuum but a personal myopic venture.

Bunch of jargon misinformation, your father did not narrate or is ignorant to the true facts.

Is it not the same money that President Buhari said we did not owe,was the same money debt relief wiped out under obasanjo by IMF and World Bank, international Rogues?

The Process and Industrial Development Limited was to build two or more plants for the processing of the wet gas into lean gas at no cost to the government since it would be compensated from the proceeds .

However, the government failed to build the pipeline to supply gas to the company . The company also failed to construct the plant for processing the gas.

The company , Process and Industrial Development Limited

If the name of the company that had secured a $ 9. 6 bn judgement against Nigeria conjures an image of a global industrial giant, you will not be mistaken .

However, not much can be gleaned on the Internet about this company except its case against Nigeria. It appears, therefore , that the company is a portfolio firm incorporated in 2006 to secure the contract with Nigeria.

10 billion dollars without lifting a finger, without investing a dollar! The deal agreement was even over a period of 20 years, but FGN is to pay them upfront with interest. This shiit is not funny at all

In as much as Nigeria may be liable, I do not think the judgment is fair. Telling a country to pay $9.6 bn as 'future profit' for work that has not been done is quite reckless and irresponsible from the judge.

If it was a Nigerian company against the British government the judge would never give such an award of almost $10bn.

If Brexit is giving them headache, they should face the EU or Trump and stop targeting defenceless 3rd world countries with stupid, reckless, and senseless judgments.

We must resist this at all cost.

I will not be surprised to see Nigerian politicians among the owners of the company. The contract was designed to fail in order to milk the external reserve dry. Jonathan government was a scam.

Where is Jonathan involved in all this. Failure to read and comprehend has always been the reason people get scammed.

Was Buhari the president in 2010 when the contract was signed?

[/s]

Most of the debt forgiven arose from accumulated interests on not servicing the loan.

Use brain!

If subsequent military juntas from Buhari up till Abdulsalami refused to pay any loan, do you think the debt will not accrue interests?

It was on this basis that Obasanjo appealed for debt forgiveness.

Note: The debt was forgiven and not that Nigeria never owed any debt in the first place.

Obasanjo did clear the original capital with additional penalties to get the over $40bn debt wiped out.

I know what damages are. And I concede you are right. But the panel has to look at all the circumstances before making such a decision. Be that as it may, preparing a contract that does not have adequate protection in the event of non-performance reeks of fraud from the Nigerian party and the Irish company.

I am referencing how Buhari's stubbornness to honour Nigeria's debt obligation in the 80's saw to a situation Nigerian assets like Nigerian Airways aircrafts were seized by our creditors.

Is that not what is happening with the P&ID scam contract?

Buhari refused to pay after the cabal told him that it was Jonathan's fault. But now that it has been revealed that Jonathan had nothing to do with the contract but only rightfully cancelled it, we now see how the same cabal that drew up the contract are the ones who made Buhari not to pay the settlement in hope of getting the full contract award paid with interest.

In 1984, Buhari's refusal to pay our debt saw our credit rating drop and accumulated increase on the loans taken out by Obasanjo and Shagari.

Re: $9.6bn: British Firm Listing Nigeria Assets For Seizure by olayinka63: 1:20pm On Aug 26, 2019
. Lord Hoffman and Anthony Evans held that Nigeria was liable to $ 6 . 6 bn and that became the majority decision . Ojo , a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, in a minority judgement, held that the P &ID was entitled to some compensation but should not be more than $ 250 m
You can see that the two other judges are thief. How can you award billion of dollars compensation for the project that was not carried out.
The contract is 20 years which means it supposed to end by 2030. Paying 9.6 billions dollars now means that they will deliver the project or just go away with money without project? I don't understand this line.

Did you know the contract was signed in Jan 2010 and Jonathan became the president in May 2010. You should have asked yourself, what impacts and steps did Jonathan make either to comply or review the terms in the contract.

Further ask yourself, in 2013, when Jonathan was still the president, what did he do when the fine was imposed on Nigeria until he left office in May 2015

Jonathan was the one who started the Arbitratiin process in 2013 after he refused to go on with a deal signed by cabals during the dying days of Yaradua when he was then VP ans totally shut out of Govt.

He lost that arbitration and then renegotiated the arbitration judgement and entered into an agreement with the company to pay $850m as compensation. This agreement apparently came at the tail end of his admin after he lost the 2015 election. He was then asked by the then Min of Pet to pay that amount, but refused cos he didnt want you APC propagandists to accuse him of paying a money of a contract he had nothing to do with. This was handed over to Buhari and as usual he botched everything up putting us a position where we are askd to pay $8.9b instead of $850m GEJ negotiated before he left.

In what ways did GEJ not do anything about this issue
