If the senator after winning and relinguishing his senate seat,will have that slot re run by INEC,and Dickson is from the same senatorial zone,then Dickson's plan is quite obvious,that is he gets to run and win the senate seat.
If not,then he must have other reasons,usually self centered in Nigeria's politics.

I think the people of Bayelsa should look beyond the PDP in exercising their rights and flexing their franchise if they are to develop. This one-stroke engine of a polity cannot drive the state up the hill of sustainable progress.

They are not of the same district. He is kolokuma/opokuma and senator to YELGA, KOLGA,SILGA.. WHILE ARUJAKPO IS FROM THE SAME AS DICKSON.

Senator Douye Diri has the capacity; intellectually, physical and morally for the high public trust, so what's the high political BP all about?
Come to think of it, What differentiate or set apart Douye Diri from the PACK is;
1) Senator Douye Diri is a loyal PDP member in good and bad times and does not suffer Dr
Janus Mentality or the Grasshopper Mentality.
2) Senator Douye Diri just won an election to the upper Chambers of the National Assembly with a vote never gotten by any Senator that has represented Bayelsa Central from 1999 to 2019.
3) Senator Douye Diri is from the right senatorial zone where the Governor will emerge from, so why the hullabaloo?
Delegates to the Congress should note these issues and make a valued judgement particularly from those aspirants who have made so much noise about thier ability to win with or without the votes Bayelsans.
a) In 1999 Alaibe was a financier of APP, they lost the election to PDP Alamieyeseigha and after fighting through the courts and losing he decamped to PDP and the position of Director of Administration of NDDC was given to him after the party had shortlisted a known personality, the person in question did not decamp because he lost out to Timi Alaibe, he stay with the party till date. However let's look at the history of our brother , here a man who has moved to about 6 political parties in last 20years. How do you know a man who should not be invested with power; when a man suffers from Grasshopper Syndrome Mentality (GSM) or Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) Alaibe believes that he is the only one who can lead Bayelsa from the time of Alamieyeseigha, Jonathan, Silva, Dickson and even his campaign Director General Ebebi is not spared. All the characteristics of Pharoah is embedded in one man TIMI ALAIBE; Bayelsan can take it, e go kill us.

Governor Seriake Dickson should give the position to that Navy retired Admiral that is presently serving as deputy governor to him.

The job of a governor requires experience hands.

The deputy governor has learnt on the job and I am wondering why he is snubbing the deputy.

Governor Seriake Dickson should encourage the deputy to become governor.

The same way President Buhari should encourage Professor Yemi Osinbanjo the Vice President of Nigeria to become President of Nigeria.

You pick the deputy governor or the vice president to be good enough to assist you.

Even this same Dickson was an HOR member when he became the governor.

Why do most Governors (whether PDP or APC, or APGA, Labour Party, etc) seek to impose their choice of successor on their party and the electorate?

This is a rhetorical question, with the answer: "They need a person to cover their tracks/their loot!"

The bolded is wrong, Kwankwaso and Ganduje use to be pals, until recently, Ganduje was initially compelled to accept the Deputy position after the primaries that produced Kwankwaso, after that they settled their differences, won together in 1999, lost their re-election in 2003, after losing in 2003, Kwankwaso was appointed as the minister of defence under OBJ and he (Kwankwaso) made Ganduje his special adviser, they recontested for governorship position again and won in 2011, its no coincidence that they contested together after 8 years.
