Kegame is the current chairman of AU

The chairman of AU is always invited to the summit

Rawanda is doing quite well for its size but it's by no means amongst the most important economies in Africa to warrant such back to back invitation.

More importantly, for those claiming Trump won't invite the lifeless one bla bla bla. Trump wasn't the host of this year's G7-1 (Russia) meeting. The host was Macron the French President.
What position did Jonathan and Buhari Held when they were invited in the previous years?

An economic summit that the president of Japan is not attending?

Normally, he should have arrived earliest on Tuesday. He has been in Japan doing what exactly?

If anybody is to be in Japan that early it should be the advance team of diplomats, ministers and technocrats and not him!
Actually, the president of Japan is not only attending but also a keynote speaker.

Buhari only went ahead of time to try to get some bilateral negotiations going before the proper summit starts.

It defies international protocol and diplomacy for a sovereign head to visit another nation and hold meetings with technocrats and appointees.

This is something the Nigerian advance team is meant to iron out and not the president!

It is rotated amongst Au members.

We have been invited in 2015 and 2017, none of the countries which attended the last meeting were invited

You can only be invited back to back because of affiliation to AU chairperson positions

There are more than four dozen countries in Africa.

Check and see the difference between 2017 and 2019 countries representing Africa.

It is pure display of inferiority complex, slave mentality, colonial submission and tragic foolery to validate an African leader based on invitation to a meeting. Feeling shamelessly excited because your President shook or hugged another human being who happened to be elected the president of another country is just going too low. As Africans, we sure have our demons like the other races do but we are definitely NOT inferior though we are different.

By the way, the REALITY of G-7 meeting is that the invitations extended to select African leaders are mere TOKENISM done to fulfil global political correctness. Otherwise, why is that these OUTSIDERS are only allowed to attend brief inconsequential interactions and then HERDED OUT for a PR world media photoshoots? The truth is no 'free lunch' will come from these superpowers without gaining much more in return.

So, Reno please enough of this unnecessary noise.
So this is your defense?

Other countries were there !

It's an international summit and other countries can seize the opportunity to have different meetings at the sidelines.

This is a standard practice!

You call it noise but I call it statement of truth. US visa fee is on the hike for citizens. We all know that out of 100 applicant only 5 will get it. Is the govt working or are we getting at the verge of destruction. Truth be told all these business you see and think is flourishing sooner or later they will fold up pack their families and flee. A word is enough for the wise people

Did you see Senegal and Chad appear more than once in the list I posted.

I said the slot is rotated amongst African countries, just like the seat at the UN security council.

The exception are the chairpersons of Au

You might end up losing your left but for nothing because even the president of Benin claimed that he wants to meet with Buhari at the summit over the border closure. cheesy

I agree sir... But, what exactly is Buhari's job that sees him jet around the globe at the slightest whim?... From my research, no other country head travels like our president...

Some presidents actually decline invitations from other world leaders, but ours even invites himself... What's the impact of all these junketing on an economy that continues to decline with each year?....

Please ignore Reno. Our able President traveled to represent Nigeria in Japan and snubbed the G-7 invite. Today he will welcome the Japanese Prime minister who is returning to his country from the G7 summit.

If our president had gone to France, who would have welcomed the Japanese Prime Minister?
Re: Buhari Desperate To Distract Attention From G-7 Snub - Reno Omokri by Truthbites: 9:44am On Aug 28, 2019
Only a JOBLESS leader leaves his country to visit another leader, when that leader is not in his country. A serious leader, knowing that his host did not consider him important enough to be around when he visited, would have sent a minister to represent him. ....

This is the only thing bothering me..if at all Buhari is in Japan..

We are (from creation) not inherently inferior.
But our actual/demonstrated capacity is somewhat inferior.

Now we may argue about such things as enabling environments, infrastructural deficits and what not. But it still does not justify our inferior situations as Nigerians/Africans.

At least for NOW.

Says who? You? Are you the one to determine that or those that invited him? Your rambling hold no water outside here.
Look, if a meeting is holding in your town(which is the center) and you're a leader/titled member of your own particular clan/kindred in your village, and you weren't informed to be in attendance and it wasn't due to error then know you're a very big error itself in the system. He was just ridiculed international wise and his ways after this will reveal more of his true person and psychology.
The leader of this Nation needs to listen to the masses, and these needs are way above ones religion and tribe. They must not allow the euphoria of their elite state to be their compass, at all.

Explain to me why the Chadian president was invited to the 2016 summit?
