Going home after work was starting to suck.

Just like everybody else, I had fallen in love at 21 with a charming, brilliant, beautiful (what-other-fancy-adjective) girl whom happened to think i could be described in such flattering words too. Just like everybody else, I got married to her because, even though the signs were there that it might be a bad idea, I was too lazy to find someone else, too jealous to bear the thought of her finding someone else, and too weak to face the fact that the best company one could find was oneself.

Unlike everyone else though, in my last 36 years of being alive, i have always eliminated my problems spick and span. No emotions attached. No warnings given. And God knows i’m damn good at it too. I had formed a plan during the day on how to kill my wife. And was about to execute it.

I stepped into the apartment to find my victim in the parlour, watching the Kim Kardishian show. She said nothing to me. I walked straight to my room.

I had mentioned sometime during our courtship that if a time ever came when i felt too uncomfortable in the marriage, i would kill her to dissolve it. She must have brushed it off. Why not? In 14 years of knowing her, i had never raised my voice at her, much less my finger. I dont know why people do that. If i wanted to do something and you yelled at me or beat me, the most effect it would have would be to make me suspend doing that for sometime. Beating anyone has never solved the problem ‘spick and span’.

I went in, got ready, came out with a knife in my back pocket. Went towards her. She watched me, ready to repel me in case i was trying to hug her, I wrapped my left arm around her firmly
And with the right, slit her throat deeply. She let out a piercing scream which was muted by the blood and the air in her throat.

She went into convulsion. While i held her still. About a minute later; it was done. She no longer moved. I slit the throat further to make sure there was no chance of her being alive. She was really dead. I casually walked round the 3 bedroom flat, drenched in blood, to lock all windows and observe the surroundings. I didnt expect anyone to have heard the scream. Everything seemed normal outside.

The flat was flowing with far too much blood. The couch she had sat on was also gorged. I had to immediately start mopping before it flowed somewhere it shouldnt. 20 minutes of mopping fixed that. The next thing was the body. Disposing it would be the most difficult part of the task.

I dismembered her into smaller parts, head, hands, hips, legs; then put all but the head into the one of the three bowls. I took my time to carve out the flesh and poop-like substances from the head leaving a clean human skeleten of a head. This done, i proceeded to do same for other parts in the bowl till the flesh was in one bowl, and clean bones were on the tiled floor. The flat was livid with a putrid smell by the time i was done.

I proceeded to flush the flesh down the toilet, in small quantities and i was done in another 30 minutes.

Now i had to take care of the clothes, mine and hers. I couldn't scrub the blood off of them, so i tried to reduce them to rags by soiling them in a bag of sand i had packed home. That came out nicely. The clothes all looked roughed up and i put them in strategic places around the house so they looked like they were merely used for mopping errant moisture.

I brought out a bag of bones i had purchased from a butcher on my way back.

All that was left of my wife now were the bones. I placed them one after the other in a mortar and started pounding. The idea was to break it into unrecognizable pieces. This also worked as expected and in minutes, all the bones were undistinguishable from the purchased cow bones which were also broken in pieces.

I mixed both, and put them in a disposal bag.

All that remained now were the blood stained leather couch and the smell. God! It smelled awful!

The blood on the couch had already clothed but i removed it rather easily with soapy water. 5 systematic wipes of the whole couch removed all trace blood.

I mopped the house three more times with soapy water laced with air freshner. The smell reduced, and i opened the windows and turned on the fan and Air conditioners.

Looking outside, it was dark already. I parboiled the bones for an hour while taking a bath, packaged it in a nylon, put it in a disposal bag and drove of with it sitting on my passenger seat to dispose it off. I would encounter two police check points but only one asked what it was and let me go when i mentioned it was merely bones for the dogs at home.

I disposed the bones at a refuse dump 20 miles away and drove back home.

On entering the quiet flat, i sat on the couch, flipped the tv station to CNN and heaved a sigh.

Problem solved. I was a bachelor again!

Lol. Stories could be easily spinned towards her going missing, or getting abducted.
