That U.S visa is a back up in case the job in U.K is not good enough and everything is gear towards escaping Nigeria by all means.

Mr seyewest, good evening sir, sir kindly dont conclude on saying im using US visa for back up, NO i'm not, i have applied for the US visa since April and got appointment for August ending, while the UK job offer came in July.

if i had the JOb offer already and now applied for US is a different story bro.

US visa is not a do or die of a thing, so am not desperate on it, you are the one who tell people to be honest in there application and same time you are the one making them feel like i must not be truthful please sir try to adjust on that no one is perfect, that why we seek for knowledge from people who knows than us.

am not been disrespectful but trying to let you know the part i have noticed in you when you reply to questions. this as made people stop pasting there transcript.

Thank you.

If I've offended you I apologize sis... wish you the very best in your future endeavor.
N.B. Don't cancel your U.S visa interview in Nigeria, answer all the question truthfully and remember to let them know you have U.K visa, good luck

I don't think so because this issue is specific to U.S Citizen especially Nigerian mother birthing in U.S (They needed Nigeria visa for their newborn to return to Nigeria), Do you know how much our embassies in U.S rake in through processing fee?

A big thank you to you and uncle seye, I pray the VO won’t ask me about it ooo. Any way if he works cool and if not cool as well thanks to everyone

You dont need to stress yourself.
Just go to your interview and be truthful.

Even with that your UAE visa, u have no issue with it, you didnt overstay, is allow to take a job offer on UAE tourist visa and your employer must apply for employment visa before the expiration of the tourist visa.

Just be positive and attend your interview, do not mention anything to the VO, answer him/her truthfully and accurately.

Goodluck

Just to provide feedback on my dropbox experience. I initially submitted my passport for dropbox on the 9th of May (just before it was cancelled). However, I had to retrieve my passport on 31st May to make 2 trips to Europe in June and July. When I returned at the end of July, I sent an email to the embassy asking what I should do. I immediately got a response to resubmit my passport which I did on July 30. I received a mail on August 14 to pick up my passport which I did yesterday and my visa was issued. Seems my retrieval and trips helped accelerate my visa issuance. I also did not use my last US visa in the 2 years (my last US trip was 3 years ago) despite traveling at least 4 times every year.

Hello Neile, pls could you kindly share the email address you wrote to?
I’m in a similar situation and would like to send them a mail ASAP. Please help a sister. Thanks

Can this be verified or confirmed?

The Federal Government has approved a reduction in visa charges payable by United States citizens from $180 to $150.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, explained on Wednesday, that the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, had been directed to implement the decrease in the visa charges with effect from Thursday.

The development was sequel to the new visa regime announced by the US Government on Tuesday, stating that Nigerians applying for US visas will be required to pay a visa issuance fee, or reciprocity fee, with effect from August 29.

The US Mission in Abuja had said that the reciprocity fee will be charged in addition to the nonimmigrant visa application fee, also known as the Machine Readable Visa fee, which all applicants pay at the time of application.

It explained that the reciprocity fee was applicable to all approved applications for nonimmigrant visas in B, F, H1B, I, L, and R visa classifications, noting that Nigerian citizens whose applications for a nonimmigrant visa were denied would, however, not be charged the new reciprocity fee.

The Mission explained that both reciprocity and MRV fees are non-refundable, and their amounts vary based on visa classification.

But the ministry in a statement by its spokesman, Mohammed Manga, said a committee set up to conduct due diligence in line with the ministry’s extant policy on reciprocity of visa fees had earlier engaged with the US embassy on the issue, adding that the implementation of its recommendations was delayed due to “transition processes in the ministry at the policy level.”

It said, “The committee had concluded its assignment and submitted a report, but the issuance of authorisation for its recommendations was delayed due to transition processes in the ministry at the policy level.

“The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has approved the decrease of visa charges payable by US citizens in line with reciprocity policy as recommended by the committee.

“Accordingly, the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, has been directed to implement the decrease in Nigeria’s visa charges to US Citizens with effect from August 29, 2019.”

Good morning all, my kids and I have our interview next month. School would have resumed by then. I would like to ask which is better to wear, their uniforms or normal clothes, considering that it's a school day.

Thanks.

All the best with your UK job and thank you for uploading your transcript. Do permit me to critique your transcript so that others can learn. One of the things I learnt from previous threads before my interview was to answer only questions I was asked, without volunteering additional information, which is equal to giving them armour to use. They was no need for the UAE extra info, it should have ended at 5 weeks without telling them the whole job part, it is none of their business, shows lack of home ties. Like I posted before on this thread, they do not appreciate honesty. A friend that has been to the US many times for nothing more than 3 weeks at a time was denied the same Visa for mentioning she was going to see her boyfriend during her interview. They asked her to ask him to file for a K1 Visa for her. This is a man she has been dating and visiting for 2 years. If she had kept that information to herself, she would have renewed her Visa. The good part is you are not desperate to travel and I wish you all the best.
