US Reciprocity Visa Fees To Remain, Despite FG Turnaround - Embassy by Brika: 2:18pm On Aug 30, 2019
The United States embassy in Nigeria has said that its reciprocity fees for Nigerians applying for tourism, student and business visas would remain for now.

This comes about 48 hours after the Federal Government announced a decrease in visa charges payable by US citizens applying for Nigerian visa.

According to a statement by the US embassy on Friday, Nigerian authorities have not officially communicated the reduction to the embassy.

“The U.S. Embassy looks forward to receiving official diplomatic communication regarding a new fee schedule for Americans seeking Nigerian visas. Until such time, and confirmation of implementation, the reciprocity fees for approved visas to the United States will remain in place,” the statement said.

The US embassy had on August 27 said it raised the fees because Americans were paying too much to get Nigerian visas.

Very foolish Buhari govt ..always creating problem where there are no problems..This is how they made Nigeria lose over 60 billion dollars in a failed bid to recover a paltry 35 million dollars from Tompolo , this is how this useless govt also made Nigeria lose 9 billion dollars to P&ID instead of 850 million dollars only to start begging to pay the 850 million dollars after judgement has been passed .. Buhari govt is too short sighted in it's totality to be able to do any meaningful thing

See sense.

They should still increase it, until we can't afford visas no more, then we'll see the need to restore our decaying institutions.

Another sensational headline from a useless blog. The embassy only said they are waiting for official communication from the Fedeal government and confirmation of implementation. Meaning, the new fees imposed on Nigerians will be reversed once they confirm we’ve started implementing the revised rates.

Baba go slow!!!

There should be a Constitution review, a president of Nigeria should not just have WAEC certificate but be a graduate!!! A graduate who most can testify that it's with merit ooooo

See the embarrassment Buhari is causing us now undecided

So you did not communicate this change to the right authorities

So you think it's Nigeria, where you will say something now and change it tomorrow and the press wouldn't bother

Hmmmmmmm that was how you changed the Nigerian International passport without officially communicating with your counterparts undecided thereby making Nigerians traveling abroad lose alot of money your government cannot even generate undecided

The United States, thank you for the correction, let's see how long it will take him to reach out again!!!

Ah ah!!!

One can now confirm there are really unserious, lackadaisical people in charge of Nigerian affairs.

These people mentioned they were trying to engage you for close to 2 years you did nothing, now they have applied 'do me I do you', you finally want to come round.
