The 'Chakai' has changed overtime, largely because most of the visiting dignitaries are not Japanese and don't understand the culture. It would be weird to have them do the Seiza over tea. That alone can kill someone like Buhari who prolly has Arthritis.

It's quite easy to escape it. Only hard when your escaped destination is a much better place say the U.S, UK et al. You can easily go to Chad, Niger, Togo and the likes. Or take the shortcut by taking a healthy swig at a bottle of sniper. Easy, see?

lol ,sometimes i see some things and i think the British did us a disservice by colonising us half way, it would have been better if we were never colonised at all.

Mr. Observatory, you claimed the Japanese culture has been tainted because his imperial majesty wears a suit. I was letting you know their culture is still very much alive and well owing to the reverence with which the Japanese regard him.
And by the way, his father also wore a suit before abdicating earlier this year to give way for this present emperor to ascend the throne.

The second was Emperor Akihito, who inherited the Chrysenthemum Throne from his father, Emperor Hirohito in 1989.

My favourite era was the Meiji era, because that's when Japan came of age and became a major global power.

(But I was referring to emperors that reigned during my lifetime, not those I read about in a book).
