I hope the cries of these protesters will be heard and acted upon for the right thing to be done. In my view, this indeed is an indictment on the national body of NURTW as being partisan, one-sided and undemocratic. Bottom line is that the body has long been politicized.

Nice one, they should eradicate louts from all these positions... Lagosians , if government is turning deaf ears to your demand kindly cause both violence and chaos at the same , destroy cars and anything destroyable, this government always approach dialogue with levity, if you really want quick action and response from the government kindly agitate violently...

GistNotice:
Some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State on Wednesday marched on the premises of the Lagos State House of Assembly in Alausa, Ikeja.

They protested the emergence of Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo as the chairman of the caretaker committee of the union.

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as: ‘We say yes to union constitution, we want the government to save our soul in Lagos’, ‘We say no to Lagos NURTW, we say no to imposition’, ‘We say no to self-imposition as NURTW Lagos State chairman’, ‘We say no to thuggery in Lagos NURTW’, and others.

NURTW National President Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa appointed MC Oluomo as the caretaker chairman, Lagos State chapter of the union.

It was gathered that Baruwa issued a statement on Tuesday dissolving the executive committee of the state chapter hitherto headed by Comrade Tajudeen Agbede, who is now Baruwa’s deputy, and replaced it with an 18- member caretaker committee led by MC Oluomo.

MC Oluomo, the chairman of Oshodi branch, Lagos chapter of the union, is one of those contesting for the Lagos State NURTW chairmanship.

Speaking during the protest, one of the leaders, the Chairman of Ojuwoye NURTW branch, Ademola Olanrewaju, alleged that MC Oluomo’s emergence would cause chaos.

“A meeting was held yesterday and after the meeting, it was decided that MC Oluomo should emerge as the chairman of the caretaker committee.

“Directly or indirectly, they are trying to impose him on us because there was fracas in Abuja and both parties were supposed to be dealt with, but MC Oluomo’s group was exonerated.

“What we are agitating for is that we don’t want MC’s government in Lagos State.

“Lagos State has given us the little it can in terms of empowerment, by giving us what to eat.”

At press time, no government official had addressed the protesters.

“Government has given us empowerment”. Can you all see why transportation is so high? Can you all see why certain people will never let Lagos move forward? Can you all see that Lagos is managed and controlled by thugs in and outside political offices? Wahala dey oo.

Is that how appointments are being made in your region?

I live in Lagos, so yes, that's how appointments are being made in my regions

This same MC was who a sitting governor was carrying up and down for rallies. This same MC threatened a whole Senator that his party would take over their state. And guess what, they did grin

After all, in Buhari's government, a minister must not have an idea of his ministry. It's just an administrative seat. That's why a lawyer was a minister of power, works and housing

MC Oluomo has been a leader in Oshodi. I see nothing wrong if he is appointed a commissioner. He can handle it cool

Residing in Lagos does not make you an indigene..

So how about one of the wanted guy on the list of FBI that was seen with Ihedioha during campaign? Ihedioha should have made him a commissioner of finance... Or?

I'm not from Imo state but nobody applauded Ihedioha for that. Or can you show me where people defended Ihedioha. Even Ihedioha exonerated himself from that story. Same goes with Keyamo. It shows the people there can be concerned about who their elected leaders roll with

But in my city, Lagos, we trust Tinubu to take us to greater heights. If he sees MC Oluomo as a man the youths should emulate, why shouldn't we?

Like I said, MC Oluomo is a leader. He has led the NURTW branch of Oshodi to great heights. And in this administration, your certificate is secondary. We have seen it time after time in their selections. So why can't MC Oluomo be a commissioner for transport or even education?

What will disqualify him?

I have alot of evidence see I work with this people before now during olohunwa tenure my brother was branch chairman I happen to be his PA which I follow him to many meetings this guy called MC is well due to be the chairman but just because he support the present president of the Union against his boss in Lagos here that is agbede and the person that MC follow later win while his Lagos boss loss now agbede now decided that his not going to get that power again since he didn't support him he agbede now brought out another candidate to drag the seat with him meanwhile the person is not popular like MC now agbede don't want them to go on election because he knows what is going to happen
