A biker identified as Sani Adamu was sentenced to one month in prison by a Karu Grade I Area Court sitting in Abuja, after being found guilty of performing public stunts at 12:30 a.m and disturbing the peace, Igbere TV reports.

The Nasarawa resident was handed the prison sentence after pleading guilty to the charges on Thursday September 5. The presiding Judge, Sani Mohammed however gave the convict an option of N3,000 fine.

The police was also directed to release Adamu's motorcycle.

That's my major concern. Our justice system is wack.
One should not be tagged a criminal for such act, he should not even be sent to prison but warned, fined, withdraw license or impound the bike/car.

I read it and I saw that, it doesn't change his record as an ex-convict. The lawmakers should not have codified such to be a criminal issue.
Eg, You drove a car without a license or expired one, then the court sentenced you to 24hrs in prison or fine of ₦50, even though you pay the fine without entwrien the prison wall, the record will state that you were once convicted of criminal charges which is not logical reasoning

It's really not about the fine, but more about the future ramifications.

The real issue is that it goes into one's official record, PERMANENTLY, and you know what that could mean (employment, visa application, etc)
