Lawlessness Is A Crime Against Our Country – South African President by Odinceblog1(op): 12:46pm On Sep 09, 2019

President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa has condemned in the “strongest terms” a resurgence of public violence that claimed two lives in Johannesburg on Sunday.

The president also expressed his condolences to the families of the two persons stabbed and shot.

Ramaphosa called on law enforcement agencies to “maintain vigilance and firmness” in dealing with individuals or groups who take the law into their own hands and violate the dignity rights of people without raising grievances with the relevant authorities.

The statement added, “President Ramaphosa applauded law enforcement agencies for arresting at least 16 people during yesterday’s operations to bring calm and order to Johannesburg.”

It further quoted Ramaphosa as saying: “Government will not allow sporadic lawlessness and violence to disrupt the safety and livelihoods of millions of South Africans and the majority of foreign nationals in our country who are law-abiding and have the right to conduct their lives and businesses in peace.”

The South African president stated further, “Lawlessness, injury and death inflict a great psychological and economic cost that lasts long after victims are buried, arrests are made and streets are cleared. This cost holds back our country and undermines all the efforts we are making to grow a South Africa that offers opportunity to all who live in it.

“Lawlessness is a crime against our prosperity and stability as a nation, and those who want to upset our public order must expect to face the gravest impact of the law.”

Sir, the problem of lawlessness is in many places.
It's obvious you can't control/influence your cabinet, your cannibalistic citizens nor the security apparatus of state.

In a country somewhere, it is the Herdsmen that they can't control and they use the security apparatus to harass innocent individuals.

Julius Malema is more of a presidential material than this Cyril Ramaphosa. Cyril is weak.

Who else agree?

Why Nigeria cannot afford a stand-off with South Africa
Today Abuja addresses Pretoria from a position of weakness.

At present, it is clear Nigeria does not have the military, the intelligence capability or the diplomatic clout to pursue a serious escalation against even a regional power, such as South Africa.

This diplomatic "standoff" with Pretoria has again exposed the weakness Abuja has masked in parading itself as a self-styled "Giant of Africa". South Africa used to be a bully that Nigeria could restrain through its support for proxies inside the country and its neighbourhood. But since the end apartheid, this relationship has evolved into a regional competition, which Pretoria is winning.

grin grin grin
Why should Nigeria fight a war against South Africa because of xenophobic attacks.

We have a president that is currently facing a lot of domestic crises but don't underestimate our resolve to protect our joint national pride when push comes to shove

Nigeria are very proud people grin

No! He is always better than Buhari. Fulani herders have killed more people than xenophobia. What has Bubu done so far to stop their own madness.
