No, it should not happen for the following reasons

1.Governments past and present have a poor track record of managing businesses.

2.It drives away investors. Which investor is going to come and invest in a country where his or her business would be taken over by the government without so much as an 'if you please'

3.It's going to cost the government billions in legal fees. (See the recent government study on the billions it would cost just to buy back power distribution companies without ending in the courts.).

4.Massive job losses.

Sorry, but nationalization does not work these days. Maybe back in the 1970's when the economy was less global. Not now.

Tell me the strong action they would have taken against SA, Go to war? Impose economic sanctions? Evacuate all Nigerians and send away South Africans here? Tell me. If Nigeria is to take any of these actions we will the one to suffer. If they did sold nepa out Completely and repurchased by one of them then you will see signs and wonders.

You are missing the point which is this, the business will thrive if they are completely hands off from government controls when Completely sold off without government indirect controls or holdings

Don't know for sure about this assertions and if non is running well then it simply means it still has some elements of government controls


The only functioning companies in Nigeria are those started by private and run by private individuals.
Deregulation of some sector's too by the government enabled some of these private owned companies too to thrive e.g Telecom sector.

Everything the government touches regresses. This is not in dispute
