Look, I have never held Yorubas, my people, to be innocent of wrongdoing in the Nigerian journey. No major ethnic group is innocent of wrongdoing as per the calamities that got us where we are today. My central point is that Igbos should focus on what is real and own the consequences of their own action. I am one Yoruba who admits that Igbos deserve 2023 shot if we are speaking about equity, fairness and dedication to nation-building. The Igbos have not led, as one of the major ethnic group in Nigeria, since our current democracy began in 1999 i.e 20 years ago !!!!

Yet whose fault is this if not that of Igbos themselves. You have seen how Yorubas vote to include the latest election where many in the Southwest showed they were ready to accept Obi as their VP rather than their own son Osinbajo. If Igbos were politically mature, built bridges and showed a belief in Nigeria and Nigerians then there would be a worthy Igbo candidate today the egalitarian Yorubas would have no problem getting behind.

As it is, no one can trust Igbos until you banish the likes of Kanu and IPOB to show a belief in the Nigerian project with a new political devotion to showing other Nigerians you are patriotic Nigerians who will serve to uplift Nigeria if you get the chance. What obtains now is fear of Igbos getting power because other Nigerians feel you hate them and will be unfair towards them if you lead.

Sowore is without allies today because he wants to be a revolutionary and politician at the same time. This leaves people confused about who he is same as Nigerians are confused by Igbo shout of Biafra and "2023 is Igbo turn" contradictory noise from the SE. You want to lead a people and Nation you profess hate for daily and call a Zoo?

Narrowed down to what is best for Nigeria, all progressive folks know that it is a Yoruba Presidency. Yet, once again, Igbos will not redeem themselves when given the chance to do so as historical hatred of others now mean you want to back Northerners, just to frustrate Yorubas, when you know this is a step backward for Nigeria.

By the grace of God, Yorubas will overcome. The baton will pass to our new Awolowo who will deliver the success the entire Nigeria , including Yorubas like OBJ, worked to frustrate the original Awolowo from achieving. Even your greatest hero Ojukwu revered Awolowo as "the best President Nigeria never had". So please back the backward North and we Yorubas will do what we have always done as the ethnic group who always have the clarity of vision to try and do what will make Nigeria great.

Good point but I have to disagree on North not voting SE. As Nigeria currently stands, Only APC and PDP can win presidential election in the country. The two parties should zone presidency to SE for unity sake as was done for SW and North in 2015. SE supported OBJ from SW and Yaradua from North. It's treacherous to accuse the region of burning bridges. Buhari and Yaradua are from same state and both are Muslims. If by chance SW feel they deserve it, let them not blame SE/SS if they decide to go with North. Both parties have lots of work to do. SW are claiming that they have worked hard to get the slot. What was their contribution in PDP that gave them 8 uninterrupted years as president. Bankole speaker for four years and that other woman that Tinubu helped to truncate her chance of becoming speaker when PDP zoned the position to SW. They accused GEJ of marginalizing their zone but failed to call out Tinubu for instructing his block to vote for Tambuwal against their own daughter. PDP might not be the best party but no one can accuse them of leaving any section behind. In 2015 the excuse from APC was there was no ranking Senator or house member from SE. In 2019 it changed to a new story. No key position for SE in their 8 years including service Chiefs.

Let me remind you that it's not stated in the Constitution that presidency or any national position should be zoned, this become appealing to all Nigerains as the right thing to do, but some will still hide under the auspices of the Constitution to have their way. The two parties won't zone their candidacy to the SE, trust me! Atiku is from the NE while Buhari is from the NW. Yaradua is from NW too. They too in the North have divisions of regions just as we have in the South. NC too haven't gotten their chance to rule? The only thing that'll make 2023 very interesting is if APC and PDP zones their candidacy to the South, then it will be SE vs SW and whoever win wins. That's when whoever is picked as vice presidential candidates of the two will play a vital role in who will lead.. Note! That slot will probably go to NE, NW, or NC. So the vote will be divided. SE should work hard in order to grab the ticket of PDP or APC they shouldn't give up the hope, because of the North's political superiority and ideology. Post isn't given to anyone or group or region on a platter of gold, it is a political tussle until our constitution adopt zoning.

Atiku spent dollars than any other contestants but he only cane third behind Buhari, Kwankwanso and just a little ahead of Rochas Okorocha who came fourth. Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah came fifth with just 3 votes.

SE most meritorious because of the equity and fairness of that reality considering the Igbos , as one of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria, have not led since our current democracy began in 1999.

As far as am concerned, any credible candidate that emerged from the South is who I'm gonna vote for, be it SE/SS or SW. But the most logical thing here is that if the South wanna be in power then we should consider the Norths votes too, now the question is will the northerners vote for a SE candidate? How many votes will come from that side? Even if all the Southeners vote a SE candidate, the North won't and we all know that. Well! If we'll rather let North keep ruling no wahala. That shows the level of the Southeners vulnerability. The North will never leave a northerner to vote for a southerner, especially SE, so if APC's flag bearer is from the South be sure PDP's flag bearer will come somewhere from the North. The votes will only be shared in the North if the candidate of the South is from SW. OBJ rigged out the popular Awolowo in place of the reclusive school teacher Shehu Shagari because of the expectation of the elite that Shagari would be much easier to control and would not block the attempt of the owners of Nigeria to loot our resources to the detriment of ordinary Nigerians. This is exactly what happened and if you say Igbos favoured Shagari then this is another confirmation you guys do not mean well for Nigeria.

Abiola won and was cheated so there is no need to even discuss your garbage of Igbos predicting he would not be President. Once again, you claim to have supported the sidelining of Abiola, the legitimate winner, which then led to a difficult period in Nigeria's history that saw the terrible OBJ emerge by default. Igbos forever backing the worst outcome for Nigeria. We remember the Igbo convener of the one million march for the dictator Abacha.

Your touted prediction of an OBJ win is also dubiously inane because project OBJ was highly monetised and backed by our rapacious elite who wanted the beginning of the new post 1999 democracy to be supervised by a "business as usual" safe pair of hands rather than stubborn and resolute men of ideas like Falae.

How you predicted a Yar Adua win is beyond common sense considering Yorubas can make same claim as they voted for him to result in the PDP winning the SW.

Same argument above applies for the GEJ win since he emerged winner of all States in the SW bar Osun that Ribadu won. We all even remember Yorubas spearheading the Street protest to make GEJ substantive President when the Turai and Aondoaaka cabal held GEJ prisoner with Patience relegated to making tea for Turai in Aso Rock.

Overall, your garbled attempt to make Igbos appear politically savvy just reveals again that you people are simply incapable of working with facts, reality, historical truth and the incredibly basic notion of politics remaining about permanent interests. You are showing the immaturity you are known for today also and you will be defeated and shamed again.

Yes I do. I don't hate Igbos and I personally like and date intelligent and beautiful Igbo women. We then move on to those capable of producing the 2023 President. It won't be SS because they led for close to 6 years directly before PMB and the North gained 8 years. No one will therefore return SS to power immediately after they led before the North. No one trust Igbos or wish to gamble expensively on them. Since it is between North and South the choice narrows to Yorubas or Hausa/Fulani.

Whatever you think of Yorubas personally, the way we live progressively and tolerantly, above all other regions and with the world testifying to this, means everyone will benefit under the right Yoruba Presidential candidate rather than a Northerner. I think Buhari is actually the best the North can produce for a region and people totally reliant on the FG for survival and sustenance. No innovation or attempt at progressive nation-building comes from the North.

The Buhari the Igbos love to hate and malign will become a hero when he leaves to be replaced by the likes of El Rufai who will not hide their bigotry and outright attempt to favour the North and Islam. El Rufai got away with Muslim-Muslim ticket. He has set a precedence and him and the likes of Kwankwaso, Tambuwal et al will do worse minus the influence of old boys like Buhari et al who still believe in fairness. El Rufai is now arguing that there is no basis for rotation just so the North can continue ruling Nigeria. What shows a bigoted and unfair mind more than that? Yet Igbos are willing to support and be used by such a vile and backward mullah and other Northerners in an age we should all be trying to seek progressive leadership of Nigeria and not a return to the sharia and taliban age they tried to frustrate OBJ with.

Now, inspect the Yorubas likely to run. I.e Tinubu, Fashola, Osinbajo and Fayemi. Inspect the CV and political achievement/ideas and leaning of all those guys. Can any Nigerian truthfully say, hands-on-heart, any Northerner will do better than a bunch of progressive and tolerant men who will liberalise processes, as Northern candidates will never be allowed to do, because of the natural qualities of the Yorubas to be tolerant, progressive and about developmental politics forever best exemplified in the whole history of Nigeria by Awolowo?

Whatever Igbos and Nigerians. Up to you all to self-destruct. Whatever happens, Yorubas will be okay as we plan for all outcome and can re-strategise even when we lose or are schemed out. It is others who remain ready to cut their nose to spite their face who will be the losers of their obsession with frustrating Yorubas.
