I understand just that I need to shine eyes well while buying .. I used a Peugeot 406 1999model 1.8 liter Engine with good fuel economy for years now.

The Engine is highly reliable . doesn't disappoint no stories .I just wanted to upgrade to a Toyota brand this time .... The only Toyota Camry I like was this model 2008... Now story about Engine and transmission problem coupled with the dashboard problem .hmmmmmm

Buy the 2008 Camry and ensure

1. you use a synthetic blend oil 5w30 and change every 6months or 8k km utilizing a high mileage capable oil filter along with it.

2. Change the transmission fluid with Toyota WS or Total equivalent (Total MVLV fluid) which is available in total fueling station, to avoid unforseen circumstances you can do this every year or two years tops because of driving Dynamics of our roads.

3. use a well reviewed coolant in your cooling system.

4. The AC compressor too is very sensitive and fails too, replace with the same compressor when it happens and always pay attention to the quality of gas refill used in the system.

5. Don't drive the Camry like a Camaro, if it isn't a Camaro, then it can't drive like a fast sports car.

I've been using conoil golden super for my 1992 landcruiser for roughly 2 years now SAE40.
So i decided to try an imported Valvoline Premium Blue GEO LA SAE 40 oil in my ENGINE. And i noticed its a lot quieter, i mean so quiet that sometimes if I don't look at my rpm at while idling. I wouldnt know the engine is running.
Movement is alot smoother. U don't feel any jerks or load when it's switching to higher gears and even at high speed it doesn't roar like it used to.

The vehicle feels very smooth.
So I'm just saying should I stick to the Valvoline Premium Blue GEO LA SAE40 or go back to my CONOIL GOLDEN SUPER SAE40.

Cuz i got the car using conoil so I couldn't tell how the real engine sound is like till I switched to valvoline.
Can't even hear any tapping or clicking while the engine is running. I have an exhaust leak just after the catalyst converter and I dont hear that too. So is it ok? Its an inline 6 engine and I've done 1200miles since the last oil change and its still quiet as ever, engine temperature is a little below the previous level too. Still have vapours from the exhaust.

Please what's ur take and what do u think about my new oil. Though I've been using it on Gensets since last year and the Genset too operates quietly. Even friends I gave the oil demanded more. Over a year now no issues. So should I continue with it on my vehicle?

Well?

Oga Gazzuzz my toyota corolla 2001 is drying oil and there was no visible leaks on engine and no smoke coming out of tailpipe.
my oil level keeps going down everyday. please what is going on with the engine and the way out
I'm using Mobil super 1000x1 20W-50,

That 1998-2002 corolla engine is notorious for consuming oil. Just look up online and you'd be shocked with revelations. Toyota no do well with that engine. Mine suck oil too. 02 Corolla, I top up every month.

To get accurate MPG. Fill up your tank and set the trip A on the Odometer to zero. Once the fuel gauge gets to the middle m, you check the number on the trip A. By doing this you can get to know if your vehicle consumes excess fuel.

Hi guys, good morning. I am thinking of buying a Hyundai Elantra 2010 manual transmission that my boss wants to sell at 200k. The snag is that the Brain box or ECU has been bad for years so the car has been parked for quite a while. Is it a good bargain? I hear the ECU is difficult to find and costs about 200k as well...kindly advise me pls.

Is it a cold start rattle?

if you don't have enough money to buy the catalytic converter(45k to 100k) there is a cheaper alternative, get an 02 spacer (5k) and check out YouTube video on how to install, then get it installed by a panel beater (2k)

You can chat me up just in case you need assistance, thanks nurey and autologic for this alternative

Hey boss,

Where can I get the 02 spacer because my car consumes more fuel now. Thanks

Dear Boss,

I am now sure I have a serious problem with my Lexus RX 300....last week the lex started smoking and my mechanic said I need to replace the valve seal and gasket.... Gasket and rings etc were changed and today my Lexus loss power on the Lagos - Ibadan express way...in fact I had to tow it to a mechanic place in Ibadan.....now this Mecahnic said I either buy another engine or I replace the camshaft, conrod, mental etc ...now my question is...what is the likely cost for an engine or will the car work well if I decide to change the conrod and others....I travel on d lagos-ibadan express way weekly......which will possibly be d beat option considering cost and workability/durability of the car.

I await your response
