The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has been closed indefinitely by the management of the institution, while the SUG was also disbanded indefinitely, EkitiReporters can confirm.

Moments back, the management of the institution announced on Voice 89.9 FM, that the institution has been closed with immediate effect, while ordering students to vacate the premises before 10am tomorrow 11th September 2019.

This is coming after a protest by students of the institution turned violent earlier today, leading to the loss of life and property.

Nigeria needs to reduce its Universities for effective and efficient management. Better still, private investors should be involved in running the affair than Govt giving licence for new private University.

I believe in peaceful demonstration. The students will spend an extra year in school because of today's violent protest. People really need to think long and hard before taking certain steps. They will also pay for damages to property.
