If you can read, then go back to read where he said they are still sourcing for fund for the coastal rail or where else is the coast of nigeria?

the financers are bringing in dollars (nexim bank) , the contractors would be paid dollars (chinese), the supliers are going to be paid dollars (steel manufacturers in china and korea)

you clearly are very ignorant of rail technology, what you see buhari checking its prototype is a lightrail(metro innercity subway short range speed train) like the one in abuja and the one in calabar, Standard guarge is still opreational even in the US and UK for long journey and heavy hualage(you can google it if you like)

No it wont take 20 years.. Ibadan - abeokuta - lagos spaning 3 states is almost completed in 3 years so Ibadan - Ilorin - Jeba to kano cant take more than 4 or 5 at max

No they are not taking anything from Biafra.. its is funded by loan from the chineses and the pay back plan is strictly with proceed from its services, just like kaduna - abuja rail makes billions per annum, again 80% of non oil revenue mostly custom and vat comes from southwest, then Ondo and Lagos together has over 300k crude oil per day capacity, while southeast has mere 40k bpd

U are lying, Nigeria depends on oil for everything, how much is allocated to south West and northern states annually, from oil money? Jonathan never funded the Abuja - Kaduna rail line from loan from China, Nigeria will not make it without biafran oil, you south West are cocoa farmers, whom u have abandoned long time ago for oil in biafran land,

rodeo0070:
The Federal Government has given approval for the construction of the $5.3bn Ibadan to Kano standard gauge rail line project.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed this on Thursday at the third Maritime Stakeholders Interactive Forum.

“Just yesterday, we got approval to complete the $5.3bn Ibadan to Kano rail project. We have also applied for funding to commence coastal rail for the Port Harcourt to Warri segment,” Amaechi said.

According to a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Transportation in Abuja, the minister also revealed that the Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisola Saraki, would be in charge of all maritime agencies, while he (Amaechi) would focus on the railway sector.

He said, “In my first term as minister, I completely abandoned the maritime sector to the heads of agencies. This time, that won’t be happening again.

“I have instructed that the Minister of State for Transportation should personally supervise the maritime agencies, while I just oversee what is happening.”

Amaechi said he had discussed issues on maritime safety with President Muhammadu Buhari and assured his listeners that by next year, the country will have a single window in the maritime sector.

He said, “There are two things I discussed with Mr. President that I will be focusing on in this second term as minister, and they are maritime security and the single window project.

“I have assured the government that by the end of 2020, we should have a single-window in our maritime sector.

“On maritime security, I have told the Israeli firm HSLI that they are too slow. By now, they should have launched. I want to know the situation of things with the aspect of security on our maritime space.”

Why Israeli security firm and Chinese rail firm?? Are blacks truly good for nothing?? Why can't they do it themselves

Good one, but why are we buying unsustainable old technology that others are migrating away from. It's Obasanjo that started this rubbish and Jonathan followed.
Even SouthAfrica no longer use this old school rail.

Meanwhile the pics below show us what Buhari promised us in 2015 and what he is now giving us.
Even Amtrak trains in America are like this. Nigeria cannot afford bullet trains.

The most travelled and most economically viable transport route in Nigeria is the East-Onitsha-Benin-Lagos route
No standard train route here

The Eastern/Old Mid-west zone produces the bulk of Nigeria's revenue.

No standard rail route in the area.

Nigeria defines an EVIL EMPIRE.

In normal countries, most viable routes are first built to finance less viable routes
That's how land telephone lines disappeared in Nigeria after billions of Naira spent.

Maybe when we start making even very little things like touch light (Consist of a light bulb, switch, battery and case) then we can start considering blacks. Blacks in South Africa were good at killing, tell them to become an organized force and they will be bad even in killing.

Thank God u admit Nigeria depends on oil from South South, that's biafran land, every territory ojukwu was a military governor own in biafra, there was nothing like south south or south East, it was only East, till Gowon out of fear, divided it into smaller parts to stop them from uniting for secession, so it's biafran oil

When it comes to anything north funds go dae,

But once it comes to south or east, you would hear we are still looking for funds undecided

Always remember this comment whenever you/your cohorts say you do not need the Presidency, because the North has nothing to show for it despite holding it the longest.

Just imagine the level of trade between North/South that this railway will generate. Not to mention jobs and development for communities located along the line.

To build or to sustain?

NITEL COLLAPSED

Gombe, Katsina, and many other northern towns got land-line Digital telephone Exchanges before Onitsha, Aba, Porracourt, etc in the east.

Alas land line telephone collapsed. Money was first used by northern military dictators to build modern telephone exchanges on least viable town in the north, while the most viable commercial towns in the east were left with analog exchanges.

No today.

I have never held such view.

But there's a need to tell ourselves the truth, its in our interest as Nigerians for all regions to develop and not the side lining of one region.

North would also benefit if the eastern lines are opened up, we will all benefit.

But if u see it from another POV, no probs

You were too busy attack Buhari, here is a link on your concern on the South South axis

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/04/warri-itakpe-railway-project-ready-for-commercial-activities-amaechi/amp/

Even in this current stories, he mentioned the Warri to Port Harcourt, and in case your don't know, the project is in phases, if the project was important to the PDP government by now South South and South East would have been the project this administration would have been working at the moment, so you have to complete this project to give room for the necessary fund

We need improve the rail system , at this level of our development, we supposed to be boosting of functional national rail system connecting East ,West , North and South of the country, when achieved it will create employment, strengthen transportation and generation of income for FG.

But Lagos-Ibadan rail is nearing completion. Remember the project started in 2017 and we are in 2019. We’ve never had it this fast in Nigeria. The Buhari administration is putting check to any distractions and is working Baba-Go-Slowly. This appears to be faster than those who weren’t slow. Kudos to the administration
