Rubicon67:1. Acting on anonymous tips is CENTRAL to law enforcement worldwide. That's for sure, and I have nothing against that. But we must be clear about what 'acting' really means. If the FBI gets intel (whether based on mere suspicion or actionable intelligence), and if the threat is valid or big enough, they act by aborting the criminal activity if imminent or already in progress, or otherwise, by investigating, gathering evidence of guilt, and then arresting and thereafter prosecuting culprits based on the evidence gathered. It's a bottom up, iterative process. It's painstaking. It is hard work. Law enforcement is not a tea party. But 'acting' according to the EFCC is to swoop on you, arrest you and parade you based on mere anonymous tips, without accumulating any reasonable evidence against you. That is what I'm against, because we cannot condone such reckless gestapo tactics. 2. That reorientation can only come when Nigerians rise up and insist that things must be done the right way. Jungle justice 'hear say' law enforcement is not how any country is run. Unfortunately, things would never change. The entire security architecture is useless, and there is no hope for reformation because even if you sack all of them, their potential replacements are just as bad, if not worse. Nigerians are beyond redemption. 3. The quest for unhealthy wealth acquisition is present in ALL spheres of our society, of which this yahoo yahoo thing is just one facet. From civil servants to private employees to clergy men to business men and artisans and even security operatives for that matter, everyone is trying to indulge in one corrupt practice or the other in order to become rich(er) or amplify their income. Even the EFCC you're talking about, they are all corrupt bastards who individually rake in millions monthly from these revenue generation raids they call arrests. I'm a thoroughbred Street operator who is unfortunately cursed with great insight. I see these things everyday. That's why I get quite irritated when people (due to hypocrisy or shallowness) zero in on yahoo boys as the manifestation of all that is wrong with Nigeria. Thus turning a blind eye to the rot under their noses. Bottom line is that I'm not impressed by these useless antics of the EFCC. Nigeria is terribly rotten. If and when the law enforcement agencies are ready to really do their jobs, the evidence will be crystal clear to everyone. But that's a pipe dream. |

rigarmortis:A policeman once attempted to look into my phone and as I handed it over to him the phone locked. He asked me to open it and I asked him if he wants to see my wife's pictures. By the time I identified myself, he was pleading with style. They know their catchment. By the way, the policeman in the footballer's case accepted the identity of the player eventually, therefore no case. |

einsteine:it's a lie they don't go through their phones before parading, heck they don't even want evidence because it's already been concluded that you are Yahoo. All that's remaining to do is torture you into pleading guilty and that's it for them. No one cares the method they used on getting the false confession. And for that sitting at home always not everyone do a 24hours job to make good morning, you can't ask someone not to flex his money and electronics rhe way he pls just because u tink Nigeria is a shithole that doesn't deserve a better life. And you forgot to explain how they make sure that their intelligence is legit and not a false claim, I doubt if they even do any investigation, and it's not supprising for a gang already doing stop and search like their ears brothers. |

Hedonisco:inasmuch as your arguments sounds convincing face-value....the fact is that, many of these guys sell themselves out and I wouldn't blame efcc who trying to launder their image, pick them up and make light work of them |

frugal:Thumbs up Truth is if you try to explain this to a myopic Nigerian is a waste of time. In USA, the freelancer makes up of 30% workforce. In Nigeria is now a crime to work from home You just arrest people, publish their names, faces without going to court for a ruling. This is simply barbaric. |

Hedonisco:from their post we shall know them, bro you're exposed and intelligent and also have COMMON sense which that goat knows nothing about. How can these pigs rob their citizens under the guise of law enforcement!?! its a disheartening situation, everything about naija is crap. I see these goats and I totally understand why Buhari's was able to become a president... you know why? because Nigeria is filled with dumb illiterates everywhere, most Nigerians living here mentally challenged. How can one support such criminal action, these criminals will intimidate these innocent until proven guilty guys and search them without warrant, beat them and shoot or threaten to shoot them then extort them. and most monkeys here will be jubilating because of it when the real crooks that are their governors, senators are walking freely. All these small boys are not the reason out road networks are bleeped up accident everyday, erosions, insecurity, police extortion. its a trickle down effect because of bad government, police ain't paid well so they resort to extorting citizens, assignations (if u want someone killed now police can do it for u) so many horrible things happening and yet EFCC is busy chasing rats when the mansion is on fire and these iddiots r applauding them?!?!!! FUCKKKK U ALL WITH NO BRAINS. |

Hedonisco:Sir, While i also condemn the "method" used by EFCC, we should rememeber that this is naija. These guys are not as trained, informed and equipped like thier foreign counterpart. Also like you can see with invictus obi, America's judicial system is very fast and efficient. Takes a few hours to charge you to court, no stories. It might take months for EFCC to track these guys and then we know that once these lowlifes leave naija, they are gone. EFCC cannot reach them. Months of hard work wasted. We cannot use the foreign method here as our system does not support it. I am a young man in my early 30s. I live in Nigeria. If you see the way i live you will think i am a Yahoo boy. I am sure many of my neighbours think i am one. I only go out of my house once a month. I have a certain level of luxury and live in a 'posh' part of lagos. BUT i know how hard i work to reach this level. Many sleepless nights, many Skype meetings/proposals, many presentations just to get one job. The day EFCC will show up at my door, they will have just wasted thier time. The worst i will also lose is time by following them to thier office and showing them what i do for a living. You might have guessed that i am into internet business. Yes thats correct and these "Yahoo Boys" are making life very hard for the rest of us. I dont mind going through a little stress from EFCC if they can use their method to cleans our country. Cheers. |

BrokeFucker007:Shut up. They would be convicted because they are fraudsters. Can't they prove their so-called enterprise in court? Nobody in EFCC is extorting them so of what benefit is it to anybody to jail innocent people, Admit it, you love fraudsters and cannot imagine how they would survive without it? |

Reason with me. Imagine a guy that travelled out abroad for greener pastures, luckily he made it out of the States legitimately after some years of hard work and labor. He brings his earnings back to Nigeria his country home and invest in businesses while he flex some by chilling at home and going to clubs sometimes with different class of girls of his taste. He already made some white friends abroad and he chats with them on a regular basis. He has tattoos and dreadlocks. He lives everyday like the last while his investments keep booming. All of a sudden, jealous neighbors get angry and tag him a yahoo boy and report him to the Efcc. They bust into his house and check his phones and they confirm he has a lot of white contacts. They don’t wanna hear no explanation, he got arrested. Please imagine, wouldn’t this kind of guy pay for the sins he didn’t commit His mugshot will be posted here just like this guys, boom! Stained record all of a sudden. This is not how it is suppose to be. Sentiments and Jealousy aside, this is not good! |

sarutobi:Don’t you think they might have posted your picture out there before they realize that you have a legitimate business? What about sleeping in their cell for some days before they know the truth? How will all that make you feel? Their style is absolutely wrong. |

SoNature:My old time friend, how are you.... Just pray they don't remember you both efcc n SARS. I'm actually speaking from experience, those your thought n beliefs don't work in a Nigeria of nowadays. How many people have you seen come out victorious as of late after suing any of the federal government's revenge tools parading as anti-graft agencies. Even if you're so lucky to succeed, your life will come on the line. Just be safe man, watchful and mindful. |

RexTramadol1:You weren't making any sense till the last two lines. I work from home legitimately and I have so many friends alike, we need no shop or office. Just say they ought to have a business registered under CAC period, that your idea of getting a shop or office is outrightly off point and unreasonable. |

Pentools:How can you be in Nigeria and not get ready for such challenges? A man who isn't battle-ready is like a husband who prays he doesn't quarrel with his wife... it's just inevitable. Huncle, it's easy defending one's case when his hands are clean. Mine are extremely clean. Well, I don't forment troubles...but they don't scare me. I won't go to their office and ask them to come and investigate me. I don't move out of my house, so I don't know what my neighbors think about me. Again, you don't have a point... The day they will come, they will find nothing...zilch! And trust me, I am battle-ready. If some of us don't stand up to these anomalies, nobody will fix it....even if it means emptying my account and borrowing...I will seek and get justice. I rest my case. |

RexTramadol1:Are you aware that some people do legitimate job online from home? That someone is working from home with a laptop doesn't make him an internet fraudster, and harrassing an innocent person is a crime. Why can't they investigate before all this media harrasment. I don't know what these guys do, but from what I read up there, these guys are criminalizing laptops — same tool that Mark Zuckerberg used to create Facebook. I work from home; I work with laptop; I'm not an internet fraudster. God's willing, before the next two years I will come up with something that will revolutionalize our healthcare system. For goodness sake, EFCC should do their job and stop criminalizing laptops. Laptops are tools that can be used to do good. |

Pentools:You are minding him? A politician kid can drive a 100 million naira car but the average Nigerian guy can not even drive a Venza without them parading him. You must not be rich in this country if you aren’t a politician’s kid or have an office work. You’ll be tagged a criminal. Some guys even have shops and they are still arrested. How are we sure that they are guilty of the crimes. Not everyone is literate enough to know how the law works and everyone can not afford a good lawyer. You are who they say you are in this country. SAD. |

GavelSlam:just watch urself talking like a slowpoke.you really think the efcc are doing it right by just arresting random youths without proper investigation, even with all what's going on? how many criminals in the USA have you heard plead guilty? even El Chapo still plead non guilty. the fact that these boys plead guilty to any charges already explains the level of illegal torture they must have went through, if your case against them is very strong u don't even need to interogate them all u do is lay out the evidence and they will be speachless. why am I even wasting my time with ur type, u must be one of those nairaland boys over 30 still with their parents lazying around and then claim to be intimated. |
| Re: EFCC Arrests 8 Yahoo-Yahoo Boys In Abuja (Photos) by GavelSlam: 11:33am On Sep 13, 2019 |
stanley000:Torture? Why can't their lawyers bring it up in court? Would their lawyers be tortured as well? Do the boys driving 4Matic Benz ever say they are into any other verifiable trade? Any day, you are for it I'll show you photos you could only dream of. I do not doubt you have links to fraudsters. |
| Re: EFCC Arrests 8 Yahoo-Yahoo Boys In Abuja (Photos) by stanley000: 11:35am On Sep 13, 2019 |
Hedonisco:seconded. what the efcc is doing is merely motivatrd by wrong information from hatefulness abd envious humans who have nothing to do daily but hate on other youths who are doing well. in this age of technology one still expect ppl to dress in the morning wearing suit to the office when online businesses have taken over. even my website alone and brought me so much jobs that sometimes I feel like I'm wasting money on shop rent. so if I now drive a car worth millions to help my packaging then one fool will now tag me fraudulent. this is so insane and this ppl called efcc |

GavelSlam:u see why I hate talking with morrrons, now u are being paranoid that I m connected to fraudsters just for speaking out to protect the interest of others who might be targeted with this witchhunt. does the public hear from the arrestees, all we see is the Statement from the Instagram profile which has already been doctored to make them look like the good guys, why isn't any report from the arrestees lawyers made public, there public can judge what's fair and not. for your information my own blood brother is an efcc officer and this same thing is what we argue, I tell him the truth to his face na d if he talks trash he Knows how stubborn I am to smash his face even though he's an officer now. when I start laying all these facts for him he just just give up the argument and insist that whatever. I don't know who u are but if u are one of those public who feels whatever they are doing is right then i pray you or your blood brother becomes their victim then u will understand that it's easier when the system haven't caught u |

If truly you make genuine money online, you should be happy those that bring suspicion and dishonor to your vocation are being slammed.
