In its war against internet fraud across the country, the Abuja Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Monday September 9, 2019 raided the residences of suspected yahoo-yahoo fraudsters at No 16 Isaaya Shukari Crescent, Gwarinmpa and C15 & A27 City of David Estate, Life Camp Abuja. 8 suspects were arrested in the operation.

Those arrested are: Chiyiri Izuchi, Nurala Eze Kamchi, Amuka Shadrack, Nwegbediegwu Chekwubechukwu J, Chigbo Eze, Franklin Okafor, Ezeagwu Olisaemeka and Nnamani Chukwudera.

The raid followed intelligence gathering, anonymous tips and showcase of their flamboyant lifestyle which were said to have been derived from fraudulently ripping unsuspecting members of the public, including foreigners of their hard earned monies.

Some of the items recovered include several mobile phones, laptop computers, several International Passports, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Avalon, Lexus 15 250, Mercedes 4matic C350, Mercedes C280, Mercedes GLA 280 and an Acura. They will be charged to court soon.

This is ridiculous and for how long will this nonsense agbero style of law enforcement continue? No evidence of criminality other than "anonymous tips", and meaningless 'exhibits' like phones, laptops and international passports.

fbi investigate before arresting but these clowns we have here do the exact opposite. some poor cretin individuals here will hail them but pray one day that rich young dude gets into their radar then everyone will understand how wrong the efcc method is. you don't just raid someone because one useless old witch or jobless fool report that someone is living better than him. no warrant is even tendered during arrest, they just burst in like robbers and do what they do best

People don't understand that this lawless and reckless system is too dangerous to be allowed to continue. I feel very angry whenever I read these kinds of rubbish reports about EFCC arresting this or that, only to see that they have zero evidence of anything. Just acting on mere suspicion and unsubstantiated whistleblowing by envious or malicious idiots around.

Trust me, even if you're innocent, the EFCC would still expect you to bribe your way out of the ordeal, after making sure that you are thoroughly intimidated and traumatised. How can any country continue like that?

In April, 2019, 28 Lawyers were issued their letters of employment having scaled the hurdles of various interviews stages conducted by Oyo State Ministry of Justice, their joy knew no bound.
Their joy was however curtailed when the new governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde informed them that his administration cannot inherit the past administration's employees even though they were employed under the normal employment procedure and neither of them owns any allegiance to the past governor.
The governor informed them that his administration will conduct new recruitment and if they are interested they should apply. All appeals for the governor to retract his stands fell on deaf ears and the further appeal to him to pay them their 5 months outstanding salaries seems was equally overlooked by the governor.
Government is expected to be continual, but it is quite unfortunate that these innocent lawyers will have to bear the burnt of power play to which they know nothing about.
It is a shame that the governor to whom we all hold in high esteem will chose to play politics with a sensitive matter that evolves around lives and survival of these innocent employees.
