Fkhalifa:.... Since the creation of BBC in Madrid and MSN in Barca to the Successful Liverpool trio, fans also want something similar especially our own. I have been seeing PAL everywhere on various Arsenal forums and I shake my head. PAL cannot work because we are sacrificing Auba to do that and most of our Fans love Lacazette too much, overrating by doing that. He is good but he is no Firmino. He cannot do what the Liverpool forward does so well. Mourinho explained it well. So, it's best we play to their strength as an actual nine and hope that Martinelli and Nelson take their chances. Because it's certain that if Emery gets a trophy and UCL qualification, he will get his desired players especially on the wings. For now, he needs the respect of the fans and he has to earn that. |

solomonbrown64:You get brain IswearGod You wrote everything in my head about this PAL brouhaha, I feel Auba is the reason PAL won't do wonders, Pepe is very okay on the RW, Auba/Laca for CF Auba will score like Suarez of Liverpool's SAS, For me, Laca will work, and can be similar to firmino, Auba on that LW is error 505, if Edu can get us Everton Soares, then we can have that fabulous front 3 that'll shake Europe. |

For me, I'd like to see Martinelli on LW. There is something special about that boy. He however needs confidence with playing time. He may need to also have a shoulder around him to calm him down not to try too hard when given a chance. Two qualities i instantly liked was his passing and running off the ball. Passing can be taught and developed but intelligent runs and awareness (This is where Xhaka fails miserably) off the ball is a gift from GOD in my opinion. Maybe emery needs to consider him ahead of Nelson, just maybe. |

Jencejyde:I agree with you... He needs to be given a start one of these days before Lacazette gets back! Nelson haven't really impressed me, he's kind of playing too safe... |

...... My predicted line up for tomorrow's game: .... The back four picks itself naturally ... We are going away so Emery will be very cautious especially since we have lost a game changer in Lacazette. Xhaka is not injured so I expect him to start, Guendouzi cannot be dropped now, so the next candidate there will be Willock. Torreira is still not fully fit. .... It's an away game so I doubt if Emery will start Nelson or Gabriel. I expect Ceballos to replace Lacazette in the front three. He started on the wings against Spain, so it's not an unknown territory for him. ..... Niles -- Papa -- Luiz -- Kolasinac ...... .......... Guendouzi -- Xhaka -- Willock ........ Pepe --- Auba ------ Ceballos . |

I don't want to come off as that guy, but honestly, I will be really pissed if we struggle against Watford. And FFS, Emery should please choose a playing style and stick to it. I don't know about other people, but it's really tasking watching Arsenal matches now. Yes, the team is still in transition, but how many years are we going to wait until we see something decent? I'm not ranting, but another lackluster display tommorow won't help us. I know some people will say it's too early for me to criticize Unai, but how long does the guy need before we start talking? Even if our full team is back, he might still stick with his oversabi tweaking of tactics and no style of play. For me, his honeymoon period as ended ooo, and if I'm being honest no match this season has impressed me. Granted it's still early; however, they say morning shows our the day will be. P.s. I hope Nelson steps up. If he doesn't, I don't blame him. At 19, time is on his side. Let's not expect him to turn to Sancho overnight. |

MrDojo:but we were asking what Emery style wad the other time people said we should wait till October. Just imagine playing nonsense till October, it's well |

Dreamswayne:Bro, I've started pricing plot there ooo. Emery's style of play does not fill me with confidence. I know people like him, and he is not a bad coach, but his style (or lack of) is really killing my passion to watch Arsenal games. At least, Wenger played beautiful football. P.s. I am not a Wenger apologist. He got the boot at the wrong time, he should have gone since 2011. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by MrDojo(m): 6:35pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
sod09:That's the thing that irks me the most. After one year, nobody can accurately describe the style our team plays. What's that? Is that not nonsense. How can one man turn millions of people to philosophers because of tactics. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 6:38pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
MrDojo:I have no problem with his style of play... But his team selection and decisions at times is very cowardly... Sitting back and defending after you are 2 nil up against Madrid when we could easily match them 10v10.... He should be brave if he wants to survive here on the long term... |

MrDojo:It's actually not funny truly, I was crazy against LFC I don't know why I still feel we had a shot on the game but the man fumbles. See what lampard is doing with the young Chelsea guys but our own keep doing any where belle face |

..... Chai, see Mancity sha.... I said the other day that they can't withstand Liverpool's press. Norwich with countless players out are giving them a nightmare. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by MrDojo(m): 6:49pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
Dreamswayne:Selection, decisions, tactics = to style of play to me. You see Emery adjusting his tactics to face teams like West Ham, Watford, Southampton etc... No disrespect to those teams, but they're nowhere near Arsenal. All the top teams in the world, have a style of play and they stick with it. 'Smaller teams' adjust to play them, not the other way around. The only time you'll see a top team adjusting their tactics, is when they're playing another top team or they are chasing a goal. Even some, stick to the same pattern even if your loading them 4-0. But us, we'll adjust for Plymouth. Adjust for Day & Red... It's very annoying. I read an article recently that Unai's tactics is confusing the players (Granted, it could be media nonsense). To be honest, I believe there is an element of Truth in it. We lack an identity. Gone are the days our team is associated with good football. Yes winning is good, but teams that are winning and playing well, they don't have two heads na. Well, that's just my opinion. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 6:52pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
Dreamswayne:.... Baba, that's just my prediction. The midfield might not be like that but the attack might be. I kept Ceballos there because Nelson isn't as daring as he is. I won't lie, Chelsea and ManUnited games shocked me but let's see what the man puts out tomorrow. |

sod09:Lampard is building on the foundation Sarri left. Although they're leaking goals. The team plays electrifying attacking football. I'm not saying we should play like them, but at least, entertain your fans. Don't kill us with sideways passing. Most people would not have realized it yet, but the sam pattern of last season has started again. Four games in, the majority of our goals have come from individual brilliance. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 7:02pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
...... Honestly sometimes I can't blame Emery with his weird selections. Our Midfield is too easily bypassed sometimes especially with double pivot in Midfield. He is trying too hard to prevent us from conceding and it's not really working. It's why I believe he plays three midfielders and even at that Tottenham sliced through us easily in the first half. I don't expect Watford to do that but then Doucoure frustrated us last season even when they were ten men down. He owned the Midfield last time we were there but let's see how he structures the Midfield tomorrow. .... I will really like us to break that new coach - winless run tomorrow. It's very possible and Pepe has to come to the party. The mockery is getting too much. |

Although football is not played on paper, I feel with the investment we made this summer; anything less than top 4 (I'm being generous, because Spuds are not that better than us) is a massive failure. Also, if we eventually get top 4 and it comes via a bitter struggle, rather than a comfortable end to the season. Then, we should tell Emery Thank you and look for someone else. Yes, football is not beans. However, Under Emery, we have lowkey spent over 200m. 70m last year and 13m+ this year. Yes, I know we have not paid finish. But, I assume you all know what I mean. |

solomonbrown64:Bro, this midfield is better than what we had during peak banter era (those days whishere and Ramsey were competing for Miss Injury). Yet, Wenger played some fantastic football with them. Yes, they got found out. But still, the football was good to watch. Our current Midfielders, however, look clueless anytime they have the ball. It's as if they dont know what else to do other than pass side ways. Why can't we adopt a system that relies on quick exchanges to break down the opposition? To me, I believe they're doing what the manager instructed. If not, they wouldn't repeat the same thing over and over and over again. And we all know that stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again, yet expecting a different result. Well, good luck to all of them. They're all millionaires. |

MrDojo:.... Na, I will disagree with you on your first paragraph bro. Guendouzi is still learning the trade, same with Willock. Torreira has been off for a while and Xhaka is Xhaka. Peak Banter, we had Song, Rosicky, Wilshere and Ramsey, and then Arteta. Abeg, our current Midfield no near those folks. Even Denilson get mouth for this Midfield. ..... Our current Midfield na serious work but it's not an excuse though; Emery needs to work something out quick. |

Spy360:.... Well, honestly Nelson hasn't impressed me but if he doesn't take his chances now that Laca is injured then he isn't ready. I mean, look at Mount for God sake. The guy dey ball. Nelson can make the English team if he plays his game. Dude had a higher ceiling than Guendouzi and Willock, now he is behind them both. I loved that cancelled goal of his against Burnley, he needs to get into such positions more. |
