I don't want to come off as that guy, but honestly, I will be really pissed if we struggle against Watford. And FFS, Emery should please choose a playing style and stick to it. I don't know about other people, but it's really tasking watching Arsenal matches now.

Yes, the team is still in transition, but how many years are we going to wait until we see something decent? I'm not ranting, but another lackluster display tommorow won't help us.

I know some people will say it's too early for me to criticize Unai, but how long does the guy need before we start talking? Even if our full team is back, he might still stick with his oversabi tweaking of tactics and no style of play.

For me, his honeymoon period as ended ooo, and if I'm being honest no match this season has impressed me. Granted it's still early; however, they say morning shows our the day will be.

P.s. I hope Nelson steps up. If he doesn't, I don't blame him. At 19, time is on his side. Let's not expect him to turn to Sancho overnight.
Emery is not a coach Na permutations him just dey do. I will keep saying this to anyone who cares to listen. ( call me names idgaf).

Week in week out he comes up with different lineups that are always ridiculous.

Ozil hasn’t kicked a ball this season we’ve seen how well we’ve been playing so far. But but lazy Ozil was the problem.

Whoever doesn’t know that Emery is the common denominator here needs his brain checked.

...... My predicted line up for tomorrow's game:

.... The back four picks itself naturally

... We are going away so Emery will be very cautious especially since we have lost a game changer in Lacazette. Xhaka is not injured so I expect him to start, Guendouzi cannot be dropped now, so the next candidate there will be Willock. Torreira is still not fully fit.

.... It's an away game so I doubt if Emery will start Nelson or Gabriel. I expect Ceballos to replace Lacazette in the front three. He started on the wings against Spain, so it's not an unknown territory for him.

..... Niles -- Papa -- Luiz -- Kolasinac
......
.......... Guendouzi -- Xhaka -- Willock

........ Pepe --- Auba ------ Ceballos

.
Paddy, I fear Watford are too physical and rough for Willock and Guendozi, I know they'll try but we need physical men in the middle in games like this, I don't like Xhaka, but for his height and power he needs to start.

Also cebaloss at the middle and flanked with Martinelli, We need individual brilliance and to convert chances, Some fans are already feeling arrogant and expecting us dominate Watford, Watford on thier top gear will give us stress.
Deloufou,Doucoure,Perriera,Ismala Sarr,Gray and Welbeck are premiership warriors and they won't let us find it easy.

Lampard is building on the foundation Sarri left. Although they're leaking goals. The team plays electrifying attacking football. I'm not saying we should play like them, but at least, entertain your fans. Don't kill us with sideways passing.

Most people would not have realized it yet, but the sam pattern of last season has started again. Four games in, the majority of our goals have come from individual brilliance.
Majority of our players aren't skilled enough to entertain, Only Pepe and Ceballos have got the Magic foot, the rest are sideway passers..
With another skillful LW like Everton Soares, the game will flow and you'll enjoy games.

..... It's the undisputed fact about Xhaka and Why both Emery and Wenger starts him. Without him in the Midfield, our Midfield lacks shape save for the match against Burnley.

.... Doucoure completely dominated us last season in Midfield even with ten men down. Guendouzi, Ceballos and Ozil in Midfield is a recipe for disaster. I completely forgot about Welbeck, dude is a good header of the ball too. Throwing Martinelli into a game like this is risky but if the coach decides he is ready, then I will go with him. Honestly, the pressure is massive on us to win tomorrow. I still can't believe Chelsea defeated Wolves. Abraham dey ball sha.

Although football is not played on paper, I feel with the investment we made this summer; anything less than top 4 (I'm being generous, because Spuds are not that better than us) is a massive failure. Also, if we eventually get top 4 and it comes via a bitter struggle, rather than a comfortable end to the season. Then, we should tell Emery Thank you and look for someone else.

Yes, football is not beans. However, Under Emery, we have lowkey spent over 200m. 70m last year and 13m+ this year. Yes, I know we have not paid finish. But, I assume you all know what I mean.

Emery might has well leave next international break, One thing is sure, it'll be a battle for the 4th position..

City,L&pool are clearly ahead of us, Spurs are slightly ahead us, So 3rd/4th is a gon be a hard fight..Don't forget teams like Leicester, Wolves and Norwich don't care who you be or have spent.

After spending over 100M on midfielders this season alone, we still gon have excuses going into match day 5 on same midfield.

We still do not have a standard starting 11 going into match day 5. Na only God go save us when the other competitions start.

Emery’s cluelessness is indefensible.

WATFORD VS ARSENAL: MATCH PREVIEW
Watford will look to cause another upset and get off the mark. They like to get physical with Arsenal, so they may approach it this way again. With Quique Sanchez Flores coming in again, it will certainly boost the hosts. He played quite technicaly. I am hoping Emery will adopt an attacking approach to the game something i have hoped will happen more often this season, it would leave the defence slightly vulnerable to the counter-attack but in all honesty, the defence is vulnerable regardless of the tactics Emery deploys.

I see Dani Ceballos being deployed on the wings as he was used against Liverpool because i don’t see Emery trusting Nelson or Martinelli just yet, i do expect that they will feature from the bench and be slowly eased into the squad.

The midfield trio would consist of favorite child, Xhaka, while Guendozi continues his good form in the line up... http://goonermind.com/2019/09/14/watford-vs-arsenal-match-preview/

Honestly, that nonsense of last season is paining me. We should have been playing today, getting ready for UCL on tue/we'd. Alas, it seems we have not learned anything from last year.

Yes. But it's the system I'm talking about. Do you know that an average player will look very good in Pep's system. Or see when Barca kids are playing against other teams. Not that they're exceptional, the system brings the best out of them. However, the revenue is the case for Arsenal. Unai's system seems to limit our players. Maybe it's me being paranoid sha, but that's what I've noticed.

I like the guy, but sentiments aside; he is slowly killing the team. With our top 4 rivals winning today. The pressure is on him to deliver. Especially after all the money we spent. For his own good, I hope he turns things around.

That 2nd half of last season no be am at all, he needs to do a lot to redeem himself. He kept doing nonsense permutations peeps here defended him with top four wasn’t the priority but Europa was. Europa final came he put forward stupid lineup including playing Cech that was to join Chelsea. We got lashed anyhow. Back to Europa.

with the exception of Xhaka, 90% of players in our line up are either Emery’s signings, Wenger’s players he’s visibly okay with or Youth players he chose to promote. All these their megedefegede excuses are not working again.

MrDojo:
Selection, decisions, tactics = to style of play to me.

You see Emery adjusting his tactics to face teams like West Ham, Watford, Southampton etc... No disrespect to those teams, but they're nowhere near Arsenal.

All the top teams in the world, have a style of play and they stick with it. 'Smaller teams' adjust to play them, not the other way around.

The only time you'll see a top team adjusting their tactics, is when they're playing another top team or they are chasing a goal. Even some, stick to the same pattern even if your loading them 4-0.

But us, we'll adjust for Plymouth. Adjust for Day & Red... It's very annoying.

I read an article recently that Unai's tactics is confusing the players (Granted, it could be media nonsense). To be honest, I believe there is an element of Truth in it. We lack an identity.

Gone are the days our team is associated with good football. Yes winning is good, but teams that are winning and playing well, they don't have two heads na.

Well, that's just my opinion.
True

I believe that while Alexandre Lacazette’s injury is a blow to Arsenal, it gives young Reiss Nelson the opportunity to stake his claim in Unai Emery’s XI.

While it was hard for some Arsenal fans to see their club let go of Alex Iwobi in the summer, inconsistent as he was. There was one player who is still keeping alive the hope of a youth product starting in front 3, and he is the golden boy of the youth team, Reiss Nelson.

Iwobi’s departure created the room for the vastly more talented Reiss Nelson to enter the first-team fray but the acquisition of Pepe and the deadly duo of lacazette and Aubameyang wouldn’t allow for a regular spot in the front three.

Now, with Alexandre Lacazette set to miss a month with an ankle injury, Nelson may very well be able to step up into the hole at left-wing and make that position his own.

Emery is still tinkering with the squad, thus a full strength Arsenal team is very difficult to put together, except the front three. While Nicolas Pepe is at his best on the right flank, both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are...

Uncle,Until Nelson start beating his man, going past and deleting players, he's nowhere near Iwobi, This isn't Hoffeim in burndeleague, scoring 3,4 rebounds and tap ins with shiny stats won't cover the cracks..

He has the ability to beat his man, and hes much more direct and a bigger goal threat than Iwobi. Scoring any type of goal is still a goal and Auba can testify to that. Okay i may have overstated that he's vastly superior to iwobi but the fact is he is better than Iwobi. How far better is the discussion.

Lets not forget Iwobi isn't an Arsenal player again but Reiss Nelson is and we should be hopeful he becomes our next wilshere or Fabregas in fulfilling potential.
To clarify, i mean a good talent that can break into the first team and move us up.... Afterall many current stars broke into their teams even when there were established senior players and made the position theirs.
Please can u read the article and tell your opinion on it.

For now, Reiss isn't better than Iwobi. Yes, he might grow to be better than Iwobi, but for now, he's not better. Both is good as sub players for arsenal tho. Both Nelson has to do lot better to break into that squad, now that LW is probably vacant. See willock as he's grabbing his chance. Nelson should just try improve o

The way we start in that first 15 to 20 mins will say a lot about what we are to expect. Like i said, i enjoyed the Spurs game not because we drew but because the players were at it from start to finish not giving spurs anytime whatsoever to settle on the ball and they did that in quite an organised manner albeit they were disjointed a few times. Its an away game and i expect that we counter any opening surge by the home team in those first 15 to 20 and then take control. We need to establish our authority on the game and put back the fear factor in teams which honestly has disappeared for some years now and i doubt if that will come back soon enough. And Emery needs to put out a strong team and stop this overcautious approach. For crying out loud, this is Arsenal vs Watford with no disrespect to them but 3 points is a must for us in these types of fixtures and we need to show a more attack minded approach consistently.
