With all due respect, even if they wanted to tend to the shark's wounds, where would they have taken it to in Nigeria? I understand we are trying to toe the conservation line of Westerners, but lets be realistic with what is possible in our local context.

I also find it disturbing that everything Whites do is perceived as absolute with little regard for our own local conditions. The damn shark would obviously die from its injuries, and there is nowhere to treat it, so what would you have the Locals do? At least they are not out at sea harpooning whales like the Japanese.

Not every shark is dangerous, such as these hammer heads except when they are big and even less fatalities are recorded. Sharks like; Angel shark, Caribbean reef, Leopard and whale shark are like every other fish that are not dangerous.
