After the last reprisal attack on south African businesses in nigeria, almost all the shoprite outlet remain close till today, though this action as increase the sales of other small supermarket within the environment where shoprite reside.
I was in a supermarket close to shoprite sangotedo today and I can see the level of crowd trying to buying one thing or the other from the supermarket, which is absolutely not like that when shoprite are in operation.
My point now is, will it not be nice if the shoprite remain permanently close so as to give our own indigenous supermarket chance to rise.
Secondly Shouting them down permanent will also have negative impart on Labor market that's already on high side in nigeria.
Openion will be highly appreciated.

If you had a responsible government ShopRite would not be allowed to open stores in Nigeria for reasons you have identified. But Nigerian government is not responsible

Typical afonja OP. Why not allow Shoprite to operate freely like free market, and Nigerians can compete with them? What are you afraid of? You will never see Igbos advocate for closure of any business competitor. They will rather compete with you and run you out of business. You are reasoning like an afonja and Dangote...Ibeto must be shut down for me to operate, only Lagos ports will be open while SS and Onitsha ports remain closed for us to do well. Stop all these irrational fear and run them out with better products and services. Peter Obi's Cash and Carry gave Shoprite a run for their money in Abuja and Port Harcourt; that's the kind of healthy competition we need not blocking the other party because you feel inferior to compete with them. Afonja stop!

What you don't know is that shoprite ain't 100 percent south African.. Most of the people in the so called Nigerian have one or two stakes in these investments.
