Reading most of the post here, I just realized some Nigerians are daft.....keep shouting learn a skill, bla, bla, bla.....do you know that not everyone is accustomed to being successful in business ventures as well as in academics? Some excel in the both while some find it difficult to excel academically or otherwise.....I also happen to fall into similar situation like the lady above and I have journal publications too so I can tell that it's not easy.....some are just academically inclined by nature and wouldn't do well when moved somewhere else

We love things that do not matter and leave things that matter in building a nation. Our leaders and the rich don't know what is investment. Why cant she get a scholarship for a PhD program.

Tell them, everyone cannot take the same path to greatness. There are days of little beginning. Although, it can be very frustrating. She can actually reach our goal by being resilient and persevering.

knowledge is power.
information is key.

there are many opportunities for first class today in nigeria. some companies even employ majorly first class and little 2nd class upper.
except she wants to stay in rivers state, she should move out of that place as soon as possible.
she needs to be properly guided on what to do because age might not be on her side long enough as there are also many first class graduates now who still have age on their side.

she needs to start making use of the internet wisely. there are many scholarship opportunites available for first class .
there alot of graduate trainees jobs in banks who pay well for first class.

even the big 4 audit firms would take her as long as she is able to pass their test ...

we need to ask her some questions

has she been sending out her cv online.
or she is restricted to coys in rivers state.

if there are no village people involved, she needs to step up her game. she really need information and knowledge.

This case is not peculiar I know of a first class product a year my senior when I was in the university who has turned a junky because of frustration.

have u bothered to ask the type of school and how much they make... is cos she has ist class what of some of us that made our second class upper in a terrible system with sadist... have we died... this is the issue when our education is not functional and links with the outside world... there was a time a ist class in physics from one private university went two years without job she was now learning tailorin... before Sahara reporters story on her led to someone giving her a job

First class graduate working in a sch and she is being paid #18,000. dis one weak my soul. The fact she even made CGPA of 5.00 in hundred level alone is supposed to be an eye opener to the authorities of the sch. Even if the governor has not lifted d stupid embargo placed on recruitment, what happen to the sch management fixing her somewhere and raising funds within the sch to pay her salary pending when the embargo wuld be lifted. The sch management is useless dan d governor. angry

I could see some comments up there telling her to find something doing instead of begging. This is my view......
Considering the kind of course she studied, it is not easy to establish self business where she would apply her skills. She is meant to be in a team work maybe in the lab or other research activities and also as a lecturer in higher institution.
Think of this, what is the essence of a first class graduate in microbiology and later established a shoe business or fashion business as the sole means of income? is that not a waste of resources on education and a waste of talent and skills that is supposed to help Nigeria develop in anything related to microbiology? Her skill is not needed anywhere outside microbiology and related matters.
I can say that while she is working as a lecturer of microbiology or in a lab or any other role related in microbiology, she can also establish another side business related to or not related to microbiology. Doing this means that she is using his primary skills to benefit Nigeria in the area we are lacking and also using his secondary skills to create more wealth for herself.
