This are not the type of movies the shoot in 3 days
What do you mean by "shoot in 3days"?! You definitely don't know how debased the industry has become in terms of certain home video production. See, we can sit here right now and film a whole movie that will be in CDs in 5hrs. Ask folks who are conversant with happenings in that industry, they'll affirm my statement. The funny part is, some of these productions sometimes costs less than 300K!! That's how ridiculous it has become!

"30 Days in Atlanta" that is officially recognized by the 2017 Guinness World Records as one of the films with the highest domestic gross in the territories of Hollywood, Bollywoood and Nollywood is not listed here, it only means this list is fake and a figment of the writer's imagination.
oga it's not fake, records are meant to be broken. It used to be figurine buh many record has been set since then. 30 days, lion heart and others are in top 10. Check nigeria cinema website. I really do not know the website buh check on google it will direct you.

Jenifas diaries is in box office too but under categories of series not movie. You don't rate both together. Probably it could be the highest grossing Nigerian series.

Not the writer, it may be "Atlanta" at the time (2015 or so). These movies are recent ones. Nollywood now has an official box office website (a collaboration of all cinemas in the country and other data), check it on Google. This is what you will find there.

The report should have included what each movie grossed. Only the first movie had such detail. ☹️

Nollywood as we know it today was an Igbo initiative and innovation, so show some respects.

That aside, the industry is not a trademark of any tribe or region. Movies are being produced across the country by people of different tribes collaborating for success. Actors, directors, writers ETC from Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa ethnicity uniting to produce quality content.

Also note that, while some movies are produced for the cinema, there are millions of movies that are released and sold across the country and beyond for home viewing that we don't know their revenue statistics. They could be running into billions of naira for all we know.

Some people still prefer entertaining others the traditional African way that we all grew up loving. There's nothing wrong with that.

Take a visit to any Nigerian or African home and see which movies they are watching.

they produced more home videos in english than any other tribe. Yorubas were busy with yoruba language base home videos untill kunle afolayan came and change the story with 'figurine'. Our cinemas were all fill with movies from abroad before figurine.

sad

So, all these "high grossing" movies
are not even making up to $1million?

When in ogbodo oyibo, some child actors
even get up to $5m for appearing in
some movies!!

Better oyibo movies even make more
than $1bn!!

Nollywood still has far to go.

I went to the website. I see the highest grossing movies, week by week. I fail to see any ranking for the whole history of Nigeria as claimed on this thread.

Can you provide the proper link where this is to be found?

Thank you.

Liar, It was not Igbo initiatives. The Yoruba in Nollywood silently left or only partly participate because of your non-objective, arrogant, and heavily tribalistic nature.

Go and search for most thriving org/assoc/forum/party. If it has no imprint of Yorubas, then it's not maximizing it potential - Fact. Even the Yoruba Nollywood is more acceptable within Nigeria than your so called English Nollywood riddled with arrogant people, rifts and court cases. The only reasfon why the English Nollywood is still hanging on a dangling rope is other African Countries (English speaking). If not it would have gone into oblivion. If not because of the Language barriers. You would have seen Yoruba movies all over the continent. Even many of my Igbo friends prefer watching youruba movies. You know the truth.

The greatest mistake goodluck made was fully following the advice from that end. They cornered him and advise him wrongly. The loudest in the room is usually the weakest.

Nyamiri are losers
Immaturity.

I made my point clearly and fairly without condemning anyone. And very factual too.

You can argue your point logically without turning it into a tribal war or using childish expressions. Go and read the mature way I presented my point, giving credit to everyone.

You have a right to your opinion, but present it in a mature logical manner.

You and your people need to grow up. The facts are there.
