Diets That Pregnant Women Should Avoid

There are some certain stages in a woman’s life where she actually needs to refrain herself from some certain acts that used to be a norm to her. And what stage could that be? It is the stage a woman becomes pregnant. At this period of her life, she is already having a living soul in her. Yes that living soul is her coming baby.

Now anything this woman does to herself, she is doing same to her baby indirectly. All these things could be the kind of food she eats, her physical and mental activities, her drinks and so many other things that can affect the baby either positively or negatively. What this simply implies is that she needs to be careful and selective in everything she does.
So this why we would be talking about the diets that pregnant women should avoid below;

•Fishes high in mercury content: Yes, as a pregnant woman, you should try as much as possible to avoid these kind of fishes because they are capable of affecting the both the pregnant woman and the fetus negatively. They are very dangerous for your health but do you know them? No ? Okay according to the (USDHHS) meaning U.S Department of Health and Human Service – some of the fishes you should avoid as a pregnant woman include; Marlin, sword fish, king mackerel, orange roughy, big eye tuna, swordfish, and shark.

•Raw or partially boiled eggs: During pregnancy, you should be really careful of the kind of eggs you eat. Try as much as possible to avoid eggs that are under cooked in other to reduce the risk of salmollena bacteria. This bacteria lives in raw and partially cooked eggs. They are capable of attacking the immune system of young children. Now the bottom line is that you are advised to buy pasteurized eggs in good stores and also try to cook your eggs completely before eating them as cooked eggs have a better nutritional value compared to uncooked or raw eggs.

•Alcohol: Even when you are not pregnant, it is not advisable for you to take alcohol not talk of when you are expecting a baby. So why take alcohol ? You should know that the intake of alcohol will pass through the fetus and the umbilical cord which may retard the physical and mental growth of the baby.

•Caffeine: Excessive intake of caffeine during pregnancy may increase the probability of pregnancy loss. According to doctors, the fetus is unable to break down the caffeine which may further lead to pregnancy complications. So to those who prefers taking some caffeine during pregnancy are advised to stop it completely. According to another research carried out in 2016 by Public Health Nutrition – they found out that those who take high amount of caffeine may be running the risk of pregnancy loss even if more research are still being made on this.

•Organ Meat : This meat may be some people’s favorite but it shouldn’t be a pregnant woman favorite. This meat is known to be rich and highly nutritional with essential nutrients like copper, Vitamin B 12, Vitamin A, Iron, amongst others which are really important for pregnant women but when this meat becomes excess in the body system, it could lead Vitamin A Toxicity and also abnormal level of copper in the body system. All these may lead to some kind of birth defects. Therefore if you must take organ meat , it should be just ones a week. Some these organ meats include brain, liver, tongue, trotters in pig, kidney, tripe, amongst others.

Some other foods pregnant women should avoid include raw sprouts, cheese, unpasteurized milk, fruit juice, chemically preserved foods, raw meat, raw fish, amongst others . The popular saying that prevention is better than cure should be taken into real consideration. So it is just advisable to avoid these foods talked about above for the sake of your health and wellness and that of your coming baby.

There are a lot of pregnant of woman out there that are not aware of this information, why not save a life by sharing this with your family and friend . Don’t forget to share your thought in the comment section below. Thanks hope to see you here again !!!

Doctors/Nutritionists are confused set of people. Today egg is good for pregnant women, tomorrow, it is not safe undecided

Reminds me of few years back when we were about to have our last child. I followed my wife to the hospital so I could donate a pant of blood. But when tests were done on my blood sample, it was rejected. The nurse said alcohol was too much in my blood. This was a point in my life when it was even difficult to eat. No be pesin we chop belle full deh buy guiness stout?
I was seriously warned to desist from alcohol for a month and come back for the test. I drank stout everyday for 30 days and went back for the test. The same nurse did the test and shouted ehen, eje yin ti wa pure bayi (yes, your blood is now pure) grin

Confusion everywhere.
Well, one guy once said this:

If you eat balanced diet.
If you exercise everyday.
If you sleep at the right time.
If you go for regular checkup.
If you don't drink or smoke.

YOU WILL STILL DIE.
