Kayode Ogundamisi, a popular social activist, political commentator and a supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari has called on federal government to drop the charges against activist, Omoyele Sowore.

The Federal Government, on Friday, filed seven counts of treasonable felony and money laundering against Sowore.

In a tweet on Saturday, Mr Ogundamisi said that Sowore had been a friend of President Buhari.

He added that a misdemeanor that should have been sorted out in a magistrate court in Lagos is being overblown.

“I have read copies of the charges brought against Sowore of SaharaReporters, as a friend of Buhari government all I can say again is DROP ALL THE CHARGES and #FreeSowore

Why begging on his behalf? Charging someone to court doesn't justify him to be guilty of the crime. Besides, the FG is only trying to save him from setting himself on fire as ealier said, by keeping him in a safe place where he won't have any thought of commiting suicide.

The charges are laughable. FG should drop the charges and release him immediately. A democracy where dissenting views are not allowed is tyranny.
