Good to see one of our former player, Kolo Toure in the dugout with Brendan Rodgers as an assistant coach. Kolo, Bergkamp, Arteta and Ljunberg are going the long route but they are learning the trade while shadowing and I hope someone entrusts them with a role soon.

City seem to score the same type of goals every week. A cross and a tap in at the far post. Why dont teams defend against this?

City has about 3 to 4 ways they score, and every member of the attack clearly understands this. So when a team tries to block a particular way, the main architects- Silva and De Bruyne would easily change to another. It takes an extremely focused and efficient defense to stop City from scoring.

I noticed that to, and I wonder why teams can't nullify that tactics, I'm yet to see the highlight, but I'm sure it'll be that same kind of goals they score, De bruyne wips in hard pass/ cross and gbam someone runs to the other end to tap it in or their wingers do all tricks for players to attempt goal in the box.

De bruyne will soon go on his usual holiday, 3 months injury awaits him.

cheesy cheesy cheesy

Bro, if KDB remains fit, Baba will tear the record to pieces. I'm surprised the record as stayed for so long. Injury is the only thing that can stop him.

The most interesting thing about the city win was when pep was interviewed post match. He mentioned something very key which was them conceding the fewest shots against them. Arsenal had almost about 40 shots at them between the Watford and Franfurt game. That's totally absurd and poor strategically and tactically. This is what makes me mad at this Arsenal team. As good as Man city are going forward, they also ensure there defense is not being subdued to constant attacks. That's proper balance between midfield and defense.

Big shame once again for that utterance by Xhaka considering what man city produced today. I also mentioned that when at home, you must be the dominating team no matter what. Man city barely had to defend nothing today and only had Rodri as the holding midfielder. I do not understand why we need two defensive mids when playing at home... reality is that we are really not up to scratch.

Typical example of two heads are not always better than one.

There's a documentary by Amazon prime on Guardiola and the man city team. If u watch a part of the clip where Guardiola was instructing his players with passion, u will understand why no team can defend him rather to just score and make his team desperate and concede more ( which of course has been possible thus far).

He instructs them to get the ball, pass, pass and pass....they either make u commit...if u don't commit they look out for Silva and De Bruyne...etc.

Trust me, his system is very much complicated than you see it to be. Then again he has the perfect players to execute it

Ozil would have broken the record some few seasons back. He had like 16assist by December. Yes Ozil was in God-mode cheesy. But Lord giroud decided he had scored enough and went on goal drought about 15matches angry angry angry. From that season I hated giroud. Ozil ended up with 19.

I swear bro.Best form of defense against city is to attack them. When you get your chances you better take them because they are guaranteed to score.

Yes man same kind of goals. I don't classify does passes from de bruyne as crosses any longer rather I call them through balls cause they are always accurate and with a message to deliver.
Hope de bruyne is over his injury problems. I love watching him.

cos he knows what he wants and knows how to go about it.But Emery wanted to play 4-3-3 he retained slow Xhaka and bought slow Guen to partner him.
you need fast movers in midfield in a 4-3-3 setup. They should be able to support the attack and run back once we lose the ball.

All he needed to do in the last TW was to get a very potent DM to partner Torreira with Ceb being the main “transitionist” btwn attack and defense.

Pepe wasn’t necessary if u understand the term “Opportunity cost” and the fact that our resources were limited. we scored the 3rd highest goal last season in the league with our player winning golden boot. Apparently attack wasn’t the problem. He just wanted to get rid of Ozil at all cost and it backfired. Auba, Ozil, Saka, Iwobi, Laca, could still have rotated the front 3 positions and we’ll still be fine up there.

Reason I asked them what pattern he wanted to play.?

Holding not featuring against Frankfurt makes me believe he will start today. I think it might be at the expense of David Luiz rather than Sokratis.

Something like ;
Leno
AMN Sokratis Holding Kolasinac
Xhaka Guendouzi Ceballos
Özil
Aubameyang Pepe

I want one of Saka or Nelson starting and Pepe on the wings playing wide.
