baby124:Zulus didn't fight with bow and arrows. It was basically with Spears and club-like weapons. They were deadly because Shaka was able to unite majority of the Nguni tribes to form one big nation and organize them to a national army as at then. Talk about an African tribe having a standard army of more than 15,000 men well trained in warfare and ready for combat at any time in the 19th century. Only few African tribes had such organization that time. Not to forget his famous 'Bull horn' formation. Fighting among Africans was haphazard without formations but Shaka was able to surmount this. This was the secret of the Zulus. |
