China lacks originality. They mostly steal patents/ideas. How many of their start-ups have revolutionized the technological space? You can never compare China to the United States in terms of originality.

I'm a Christian but to be honest, there some Arab nations that offer world class education for far less. If you've been to Qatar, Oman, etc, you'd testify to this. Their medical courses are top range yet very affordable. It doesn't matter how you teach or learn ABC so far you start from an A and end at a Z...in an orderly manner. It's same principle. Education in the west is very expensive.

Some people argue that one of the reasons why Chinese/other Asian countries are criticized for unoriginality is because of the widespread practice of ROTE Memorization in their pedagogy.

Particularly with India and North asian Countries.
The Saudi oil industry was midwived by Western technologies.

Religious balance is probably the issue here. And cost too. The USA is NOT perfect. But it is in many ways the largest contributor to the world's knowledge base currently (Not in the past).

One generally stands a higher chance of getting funding, scholarships and research grants in the US, than anywhere else in the World.

There is almost no cultural barriers to research interests. The US is probably the place that gives your wildest ideas the greatest chance at success.
