Xhaka as captain is an absolute joke in my opinion. Emery simply going the way of Wenger. A player that makes one too many defensive errors again and again is definitely not a Captain, definitely not on the pitch.

A player that comes out to say "We were SCARED!" is Arsenal FC Club captain?!!

This is absolutely pathetic.

Xhaka has been known to have strong leadership qualities. Having been captain at his former club and national teams at different levels.

He isn't my first choice, but I wish him well.

Definitely not my choice especially for the 1st captain role, maybe a 2nd or 3rd but I have no choice but to support him.

I don't really know why people are expressing surprise at Xhaka being named the captain o. Ever since the coach has relegated Ozil to the bench I've known Xhaka will be the captain tey tey. He's worn the armband so long not to be given permanently. With Koscienly gone, Ozil on the bench it was only a matter of time for Xhaka to be gifted the armband

I just hope his form improves and He gets to do less efending cos defending is just not his area of strength at all.

all I want is that, he should be our captain from the bench, I dont want to see him near our starting eleven ever again angry

He blindfolded them and put xhaka alone in the box for the players to pick.

I don't know if anyone saw Auba's peaked performance just after he received the arm band against Aston Villa.

My man even tear free kick inside net.

Watching Liverpool and Sheffield United and I was overly impressed with the organization from front to back of the Sheffield team. Liverpool missed a few but the closing down and compact nature of the midfield and defense was simply elegant. It shows a well coached team and players disciplined enough to do their jobs. How i pray Arsenal can play both sides of the game especially the defensive side off the ball with such organization.

In fact can we get a coach to just teach this our team our to play solidly off the ball? This is one area that is killing us and if this can be done to a reasonable extent, the team will improve a whole lot.

Lol!

I'm just referring to the defensive organization off the ball. Every great team needs to have a side of steel too.

Big teams keep the ball instead. So when they don't have it, they become disoriented. Small teams know they have to survive without the ball.

Xhaka-Guendouzi pivot never works...

The midfield would get out run easily...

Agreed! But when two big teams meet especially with one being away. They must learn to stay compact defensively or will be ripped apart. Playing a small team would be the other way round.
