What are you writing, nitori Olorun? Your post contains the names of two literary giants (Soyinka is a Colossus), yet you can't string an intelligible composition together?undecided

We like to criticize unnecessarily. 'Overhyped' bla bla ....which one you don produce? Or you think that those that nominated it for Oscar's didn't know it was 'over hyped',,, idi0ts thinking they knew something.

The movie was submitted by Nigerian committee it was not chosen by whites

There is no need to display your hatred for Soyinka and Yoruba.

Read and comprehend before you comment.

Don't buy your opinion, bro. Another thing, it was not a nobel price for peace, but for literature that was conferred on Soyinka.

When better movie like oracle no win oscar, even black november, or ije, mirror boy. Lion heart is just a normal movie, the worst na merry men. Dem go just dey use advertisements dey deceive person. I rather watch normal nollyhood movie like Malaysian money or anambra women., not spending million of naira on a movie with no strong and compelling story line for eg chief daddy, merry men, wedding party 2. On the contrary there are some good expensive movies eg family runs, wedding party1, mirror boy, black November, 1 October, half of a yellow son. Although dey spent billions of naira in making of that movie (half of a yellow son), they didn't even recover the money in sales

No hating but the movie is just there....
I'll back it up with facts.

No special acting,
No special storyline,
No special cinematography
No special anything.
No outstanding acting from anyone.

At least it has been submitted... That alone should be enough.
But if it wins, then the Oscars has lost it's prestige.
The drone footages weren’t bad. I like the way the Enugu environment was showcased. I never knew the city was so beautiful. Other than that, meh. Onyeka Onwenu was good in her role, Pete Edochie was his usual self, Genevieve a little stiff but better than her other roles. Although I don’t see the movie as Oscar worthy it is a step in the right direction of giving our movies international attention.

mirror boy was a disaster. October 1 was badly directed....Izu Ojukwu would have done better. The only award the wedding party deserves is best costume design and best achievement in extravagancy and unbeatable PR. Half of a yellow sun didn't have a director. Biyi ruined that film.

The only standout film here is Black November. The Amata brothers are too good

I see, I downloaded a movie "Moonlight " on Oscar winner's list and I'm still wondering how such much won Oscar award, you may be right with your opinion.

But why bring Prof. Wole Soyinka into this? Yes, he won the Nobel prize but most importantly he has justified why he belongs with the best in literature and has continued to do that in the years after. Prof. Soyinka's 'The man died' is a great read. Go check it out.

Black November that was critiqued on one of those foreign websites and they called it 'melodramatic', I had never been so vexed by a review.

The standards that obtain abroad, are not same with what obtains here. I bet they would call King of Boys that some people are calling epic here, meldoramatic as well, what with Sola Sobowale's wailings. It is something as supposedly drab as Lion Heart that would appeal to the foreign audience
