Most people write articles they don't have idea of.BUA wrote to NPA that their terminal is bad, that the berths are no longer good for vessels to berth. Hoping that NPA will come for repairs, forgetting that it is there responsibility to maintain the berths...... BUA has never done any work @ those berths since concession.

However, NPA in return said OK since your terminal is bad. Vessels are no longer allowed to berth there for safety reasons. Now they used their hand to shoot their leg. Nothing like Dangote is involved in this one please.

I will advice BUA to desists from engaging in a media tussle with NPA, the regulatory body. Even if you win the present media war you are still bound to work under NPA regulatory framework. NPA is your landlord. Atiku INTELS failed to realised/was ignorant of this fact when it adopted a belligerent approach with NPA when it clearly was at fault. Today Intels has been kicked out from the Southern ports for good. Heaven didnt fall.

When the government restricted the supply of dollars in June 2015 to prop up the value of the Nigerian naira, firms owned by Dangote landed a healthy share of dollars available at the cheap official rate, a study by Reuters shows.

Reuters examined foreign currency transactions made during an 11-week period in March to May this year. Over that time, Dangote businesses were able to buy at least $161 million in hard currency from the central bank. That was around nine percent of all the hard currency the bank sold over the period. In a single week in March, one dollar in every eight went to Dangote companies. There is not enough data to see how that stacks up with the companies’ share of foreign trade.

Compared with buying dollars on the more expensive unofficial market, though, Dangote companies benefited to the tune of about $100 million.
