as in what does that mean
do they (igbo speaking rivers) have anything or any meaning to the word rumu?

Ikwerre's are igbos . Even though they always want to disagree. How can u have same igbos word in ur dialet that has same meaning in ur dialet and still claim "non igbos"?

It will be hard to change the name because the Ijaws and Ogoni's of Rivers state will see it that the city being "Igbonised". But it should be changed

We have many tribes in Rivers State. Not just Ogoni and Ijaws. We have Ikwerre as well. Port Harcourt is here to stay.

my colleague too from Edo state is bearing amarachi ifeanyi while the other one from Agbor is bearing Chinedu. Cos they bear those names doesn't make them igbo, or why Yorubas don't claim Rivers state too they cos Amaechi is bearing Rotimi has his first name?
These minorities have their own tribe, culture and identity.
Igbos should stop this ethnic cleansing of minorities.
Ikwerre is Ikwerre, Aniomas is Anioma and igbo is igbo

Go and ask a typical South South man, he will repeat what Gidgiddy said.

I remember one Ijaw man who used to analyze politics on Radio Continental then, somebody Charles. He would always say that Ikwerre people live in denial when they claim not be Igbos.

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the most successful politicain from South South, claims to be more Igbo than Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe from Abia State grin

Yes some Ijaws are in Rivers but have no ownership of Port Harcourt. Just as Delta Igbos own Asaba, and Itsekiri and Urhobo own Warri. Igbo/Ikwerre own Port Harcourt; as the Igbo name "Igwuocha" reflects that.

It was called Igweocha before the whiteman came to rename the place "Portharcourt". The white man has gone back home, it is time for the city to revert to the original name
